I wake up to the sight of flashing red lights on my TV. Without my glasses or contacts in.. it's just a blur. I stumble out of bed yawning, then glancing down at the alarm clock.

I groan. Its two am. What could possibly be this important...

I grab my glasses and turn to face the Television. My jaw drops.

One red flashing word stares at me.. all alone on the dark screen.

RUN

Every inch of my body freezes. Run?? To where... From who??

This warning is being broadcast all across the nation. It has no meaning.. no purpose.. just a chilling command.

I look out the crack in my boarded window.. Dead trees seem to silently sway into the night.

Not a soul to be seen. I mean I live alone here.. there's not another living being for at least twenty miles in every direction. Well except my cousin.. he lives about mile south of here.

I don't understand.. RUN..

Suddenly the message changes..

Too late.. hide

Okay this is beginning to scare me. Why am I receiving these creepy commands.

I look back out the crack in my boarded window and notice my shed door is swinging back in forth in the cold wind.

It was locked. I never leave it open
Never...never..

I grab my flashlight and put my shoes on. If I don't close it.. the wild animals will get into it and destroy everything, including all my frozen meat in the freezer.

I quietly call my cousin Darin and he answer quickly.

"I was getting ready to call you Natalie. I got this strange broadcast.. and I think a wild animal got into my shed.. stupid lock, ain't worth dime."

I smile. "Yeah same here. You want to come over? Maybe we can figure this out together."

He laughs. "Yeah just let me go close my shed door with some wire."

I groan. "Hurry up cous. This may be important stuff."

He pauses. Pretty sure he rolled his eyes.
"Yea.. yea.. be there in ten minutes. Bye."
