Chapter 3
It felt like the day would never end. Devon would shoot me a wink whenever he could. I felt my phone vibrate and pulled it out.
Don’t forget about tonight ;) –Devon
I smiled at the message before putting my phone back in my pocket. Today was the talent show scene. I was just a random audience member, but Devon managed to send me a smile.
“I’m so bored!” My friend, Holly, whispered to me.
“I am too.”
“Are you busy tonight? I found the perfect set of twins for us to go on a date with.” Holly was constantly trying to set me up with a guy because she felt I needed a man in my life.
“Sorry, but I already made plans to go on a date with someone else.” I told her. She gasped.
“Don’t tell me that Devon finally asked you on a date.” She was surprised. I guess I was so excited that I had forgotten to tell her about the date. “Give me all the juicy details.”
“Well, he kissed me first and then he asked me on a date. He told me that he had liked me for a while and had wanted to kiss me since the day he met me.” She looked shocked.
“Did he tell you where you are going for your date?” She asked me.
“No, he just said that it would be a romantic dinner.” I sighed and smiled at the memory.
“What was the kiss like? He looks like he would be a good kisser.”
“The kiss was unbelievable. Fireworks went off, and he is an amazing kisser.” I told her excitedly. We stood up to move onto the next scene. I saw Devon start to walk towards me. Holly poked me in the side and giggled.
“Hey Ashlee.” Devon smiled at me. I smiled back.
“Hi. This is my friend, Holly.” They shook hands and we all started to walk back to the dressing rooms.
“Can you touch up my hair and make-up?” Devon asked me.
“Sure. I’ll talk to you later Holly.” She sent me a wink before walking off to find the director. I followed Devon into his dressing room. He turned around and faced me before pulling me in for a hug.
I breathed in his scent. It smelled like pine trees. I looked up at his face. His chocolate brown eyes were looking down at me. He leaned down and kissed me softly on the lips.
We pulled away after a little and he sat down in his chair. I began touch up his hair.
“So, where are we going tonight?” I asked him. He gave me a mischievous smile.
“I guess you will have to wait and see.” I gave him a frustrated sigh. He chuckled. “Why do you want to know so badly?” I shrugged.
“I just want to know if I should find something nice to wear.”
“Ashlee, you always look perfect. You could wear anything, and I would still think you are the most beautiful girl in the world.” I blushed at his comment.
