October 10, was the day that everyone within Konoha would remember as the Kyuubi no Kitsune attacked, killing many people along with the Yondaime Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and unknown to many, his Wife, Kushina Uzumaki.

As the Kyuubi was sealed within Naruto, making him the next generation of Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi, he only held half of it, its Yang half, while the Yin half had been placed within their other son, Yūrei.

Flashback

On the head of a giant toad, the boss summon of the toad contract, Gamabuta, the fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze stood with a clone behind him holding two bundles, one with red hair and the other with yellow.

"Gamabuta, hold the Kyuubi off while I complete the the seals for it on my sons." "I hope you know what your doing Gaki." The large toad said as both Minatos disappeared below to where a weak Kushina was who reached out wanting to hold one of her sons.

"Mina-kun, let me hold, Yūrei, please." She said as the clone softly gave her the quiet and peaceful infant, while his brother was crying and in tears, while Minato tried to calm Naruto while he placed the seal onto his abdomen.

Once done, he switched with Kushina to start the seal on Yūrei while she calmed Naruto down. Once both infants had the seals on, Minato grabbed her and hirashin to an open location.

Kushina released her chakra chains and tied down the Kyuubi as Gamabuta reverse summoned himself back to Mount Myūboku. The Kyuubi struggled to get free from the chakra binds. Kushina fell over and cough. "Kushina!" Minato ran over to her as she huffs before looking at him. "I'll take, the nine tails with me, to my death, so that the interval until he, emerges again, us delayed." She pants heavily.

"It's all I can manage right now, with my remaining chakra, to help, you three." She looks up at Minato while holding Naruto and Yūrei. "Thank you, for everything, up until now." Minato chokes lightly and looks down as he begins to cry.

"Kushina, you're the one, who made me the Fourth Hokage, who made me the man." He pulls he into a hug, to which she accepts. "And made me a father to these children! And yet, I am useless." He cries softly before pulling away mid way through her word. "Minato, don't be sad, I-I'm happy, that I'm loved by you. Plus." She looks down at Naruto and Yūrei. "Today are the boy's birthday. So, most of all, if we were to imagine me alive, and our future together as a family of four, then, I can't see us, being anything but happy."

"But if I were allowed just one regret, I wish I could have seen Naruto and Yūrei both grow up." Minato pulled up his hand to his tear ridden face. "Kushina, there's no need for you to sacrifice yourself to kill the nine tails. Preserve what little chakra you hold for your reunion with our son's." She looks up confused as he walks by. "I'm going to seal the remaining chakra into our son's, that will be part of the Eight Signed Sealing."

In quick succession, Minato went through several hand seals and shouted. "Reaper Death Seal." When he called it, a translucent figure appeared and once it became more visible it showed the Shinigami, prayer beads in his left hand and a dagger in his mouth.

The god thrust it's hand through his chakra form and his physical body before latching onto the Kyuubi. "Shinigami-sama, send the yang chakra into my son Naruto, Ill send the Yin to Yurei, i trust he'll be strong and hopefully, Kyuubi will not fight him." He asked getting a nod from the Shinto God of Death.

"Seal!" As Minato said it, the Kyuubi roared as the massive chakra of Kyuubi was removed from it and moved into Naruto. The Shinigami waited silently after the seal on Naruto glowed, Minato unsealed a sealing Alter and set them down.
