A Chase For Light

Sabine was keeping up to Ezra, but barely. "Commander Wren, return to base, immediately!" Commander Sato ordered, "Negative Commander, I have to go after him, if anyone has any chance to get him back, it's me." Sabine responded, "Commander Wren, i understand, but we need that fighter, the Empire has come and put Atollon under seige! RETURN AT ONCE!" Sato yelled, "No Sato, I'm sorry, but i have to do this, if i come back, then i will come back with Ezra.". Sabine turned off the rebel comlink and activated another comlink so she could talk to Ezra. She linked her ship with Ezra's just before he jumped into hyperspace with Sabine.

NEAR THE PLANET CLIPAR

It took a few hours, but eventually they reached Ezra's destination. Sabine was stunned, it was a planet she had never seen before, "Sabine, welcome to Cilpar." Ezra said. "Ezra, come back, we need you." Sabine instantly started pleading. "No Sabine, i won't come back, even for you." Ezra responded. "Sabine, there is a low chance that the rebellion will win the battle currently and me coming to help won't change anything. And besides, i have a family here."

Sabine was shocked to hear that he had a family here. As far as she knew, Ezra's family got killed by the empire and the current family is fighting a battle back on Atollon. "I know, i was shocked too to hear i had any living family left. Since i now have a little sister, i will leave the rebellion." Ezra said, like he had read Sabine's mind, "Ezra, you just can't leave them to die!" Sabine said angrily "They are your family too! So you have a choice, to leave me and the rebellion like a coward or come back to help, and then you can come back here." Sabine said calmly. Sabine wanted to cry, because she could already guess what his answer is going to be, "Then i guess I'l be a coward. Sabine, i will not leave my family again." He said as he cut the commlink connection.

By that time they had made it to the planets atmosphere and were getting ready to land. As they landed, they saw a man walk out of a hut. "You rebels never learn, i will never join you. I have a family here and i won't risk their safety." Ezra got out of his X-Wing and said "Hey Uncle Jared!" "Ezra? What are you doing here, trying to recruit me?" Uncle Jared asked. "No, i have left the rebellion, i had to steal one of their rare X-Wings to escape. Before that i got captured and i learned that you and little sis are living here, so i came here." Ezra responded with clear happiness that he had actually found them. "Then who is this friend of yours?" Uncle Jared asked with skepticism. "This is Sabine, she came to try and convince me to get back to the rebellion and the replacement family i had there, but to me you and sis are more important.".

"So we were just a temporary family to you, nothing more?" Sabine asked, clearly sad at what Ezra said "Sabine, you are welcome to stay, but since you nor the rest of the crew care about me, i decided to leave." Ezra responded, but was shocked once he heard that Sabine was crying. "Why did you start cutting yourself?" Sabine suddenly asked, "Cutting? I never did tha..." Ezra responded, but was cut off by Sabine "Don't lie to me Ezra, I felt the cutting marks on you hand before you left the Ghost!" By then, Uncle Jared had left them there and went inside the house. Ezra then showed Sabine the cutting marks, as he knew that he couldn't be abled to hide them anymore.

Sabine hugged Ezra and started crying into his shoulder while thinking, "Why am i crying into his shoulder? I am a Mandalorian, i shouldn't cry.". Ezra hugged her back, but then said "Go, get back to the rebellion, they need you more than ever." And then he walked into the house to talk to his Uncle and sister. Sabine then slowly started walking back to her A-Wing, she looked back for a moment and whispered to herself "Bye Ezra." and then got into her ship and took off. After getting out of the planets atmosphere, she jumped into hyperspace, towards Mandalore.

ON MANDALORE

"Please, we have to help them! If you don't help, then i guess that i will leave and never come back..." Sabine said, almost begging. "I'm sorry Sabine, but we have another war here to win. We just can't spare anything." Ursa said, but then Tristan stepped in, "Mom, we have to spare something, they helped defeat the majority of the oppression, they helped get father back, don't those things mean anything?" Ursa then reluctantly said, "Fine, but Sabine, promise me this, stay here after this, at least for a little bit." Sabine happily agreed and they took off with a squadron of mandalorian Kom'rk starfigters and headed to Atollon. Sabine was only afraid of one thing, that they were too late.
