Takeo Hanabi rembered the day she first met her best friend, Asano. At first he wasn't Hanabi's friend but her cousin, Akihito's friend, however it was one of those moments in life that two people just met and knew that they would be friends forever, the only thing that has changed was as they grew older they became more like lovers and Akihito was able to take his spot back as best friend.
All through Elementry school the three of them were as close as could be. Both Asano and Akihito were extremely smart and were often competing for the highest score, Hanabi however was often far more concerned with sports however with the help of her cousin and her friend Hanabi always managed to be in the top five.
Even as the trio entered middle school everything was fine. They all joined the student council along side a few others that began to flock around the trio because of their good grades. Apparently good grades was the only thing needed to become like a god to your fellow students and Asano and Akihito fit the bill perfectly.
But Hanabi saw past Asano's persona of a perfect student and Hanabi supposed that was what made them get along so well. So what they both pretended a little bit, in the end of it all they could see past that in each other.
They were the best of friends and at the end of the day they were more than that even if they didn't notice it.
The only difference was they didn't need to put a label on what they were. They were Asano and Hanabi, where there was one there was the other. At least that was how it always was but in the coming year that togetherness would be put to the test as they each had to work through their own problems and maybe then they would be able to figure out what they were to each other. Not just Asano and Hanabi maybe something more.
