Four weeks later.
Elise, now seven months pregnant, lays on the couch reading on the morning I have to leave for tour.
"Babe." I called.
"Yes." She said.
"I'm getting ready to go." I said.
"Okay, well if you want a goodbye kiss, you'll have to come to me. You know I can't get up very easily." She said.
I smiled and walked downstairs, "You sure you'll be okay here?" I asked.
"Yeah, I can waddle my way around." She said with a smile.
I kissed her. "You go into labor, if that baby is coming, you call me and I will be here as fast as I can, okay?" I asked.
She nodded, "I've still got eight weeks. But I promise you'll be the second to know if I go into labor babe." She said.
"Who'll be the first?" I asked.
She giggled, "Me." She said.
I laughed.
She hugged me, "See you in four weeks." She whispered.
"See you in 28 days." I said.
I picked up my bags and headed out the door.
On the way to the first city, the guys all asked how Elise was doing, including Jaime.
"She's exhausted from just peeing all the time." I joked.
"She's ready for her to be out." I added.
"How's Court?" I asked.
Jaime shrugged, "She's as stubborn as Elise. She is worried about her, and wants to know how she and the baby are doing, but she's too stubborn and refuses to apologize." He said.
I nodded, "That sounds just like Elise." I said.
"I told her to call me if and when she goes into labor." I said.
"She's not due until the eleventh of May." Tony said.
"Well, they come early sometimes." I said shrugging.
"I have a feeling Jaycela isn't in any hurry to get out here." Kyle said.
Kyle was actually mine and Mike's younger and youngest brother, and he was filling Mike's place in the band.
"Elise wants so badly to have Mike around again, because he was a shoulder for her when I was being an ass, and she had nobody else. She's not really sure what do to now." I said.
"She'll find some way to cope." Tony said.
I texted Elise to see how she was doing.
Hey babe, how's it going?
I stared at the ceiling until my phone dinged.
I'm exhausted.
Just got done puking up my dinner, now I'm laying in the bathtub watching Jaycela somersault around in my stomach.
I flinched.
Ouch. That sounds painful.
At least we know she's healthy.
Silence fell while I waited for a reply.
My phone dinged about three minutes later.
Yeah, she's healthy and active. It really only hurts when she kicks my ribs. Other than that, it just feels like a little butterfly fluttering in my stomach.
