Justin’s P.O.V.

It was now Christmas Day, and I felt blessed to be spending it at my new home with my beautiful fiancee and my three wonderful children. Nothing was going to go wrong this year.

It was quite early in the morning when I woke up so I knew that the kids wouldn’t be up for a while.

Therefore, I decided to wake Cher up and get our Christmas Day started before the kids came running in.

I kissed her gently and she woke up, smiling up at me.

“That was a nice way to wake up.” Cher said quietly before kissing me back.

I pulled her on top of me so she was straddling me and she pulled my shirt off of me.

That was when Esme came running in…

“Mommy, Daddy…” She paused, looking over at us. “Eww! Mommy and Daddy are making out! Eww!”

Esme squealed, running out of mine and Cher’s bedroom.

Cher jumped up quickly, running after Esme.

“Esme, please, stop running - Let Mommy talk to you.” I heard Cher call after Esme.

This made me chuckle as I headed towards the bathroom.

I had a quick shower, before wrapping a towel around myself, styling my hair and heading back into the bedroom.

Cher was sitting on the bed with Esme on her lap, and they both seemed to be in deep conversation. Cher looked over at me, and smiled at me.

“Finally, you’re done.” Cher said, before looking back to Esme. “Look, Mommy and Daddy need to get dressed, and then you can open your presents.”

“Yay! Presents!” Esme squealed, clapping her hands.

Both Cher and I laughed.

“Go into the guest room and wake up Nanny.” I said, pulling some clothes out of the closet for me to wear. “Get Amberlee and Austen up too - I’m sure Nanny will make you all breakfast before Mommy and I are ready.”

Esme grinned, kissing Cher on the cheek before running off into the hallway and shouting for my mum to wake up.

I got dressed into some black jeans, white t-shirt, red hoodie and red Supras, and was just sorting out my hair when Cher came back in the room after having her shower.

“Look at you.” Cher said, winking at me as she pulled on some black skinny jeans, a black t-shirt, a woolly cream cardigan and some fluffy brown boots. She looked stunning.

“Well I do like to make an effort.” I said, smirking.

Cher smiled at me as she went to go and put on her makeup.

“Oh no you don’t missy.” I said, taking her mascara brush from her.

Cher looked at me sulkily. “Please Justin. I need it.”

“No you don’t. You look fine without your makeup.”

“Pleaseeee. I’ll just put on my mascara. Just my mascara. I promise.”

“Fine… just the mascara.” I said, handing her mascara brush back. “I’ll be downstairs having breakfast. See you in a minute.”

I kissed her cheek before heading downstairs into the kitchen.

I sat with my kids and started to eat my breakfast just as soon as Cher walked in. I was upset to see she had broke her promise and had put more than just mascara on.

“You promised you’d only put on mascara.” I said to her, and took another bite of my pancake.

“I’m sorry Justin. I just didn’t feel comfortable without it on.” Cher said as she sat down besides my mom and Gary.

I sighed. “I hope that one day you’ll realise how truly beautiful you are.”

Cher’s P.O.V.

It was now late afternoon on Christmas day and I don’t know about the kids, but I was getting pretty tired.

The kids were busy playing with their new toys, so Justin, Pattie, Gary and I were sitting on the couch having a drink and chatting. Justin, Pattie and Gary all had a glass of red wine but I was sticking to any non-alcoholic drink I could find. I don’t want to go back to how I was before I went to rehab.

We were in the middle of discussing colours for the wedding when the doorbell rang.

“I’ll get it.” I said, putting my glass down on the coffee table.

I was shocked to see Ryan, Charlana, Katie and someone who I was guessing was Katie’s new boyfriend.

“What a surprise to see you guys here.” I said, stepping aside to let them in. “Justin! We have visitors!”

Justin came into the hallway, and his face lit up at the sight of our friends.

“What are you guys doing here?” Justin asked them.

“Charlana and I just got home from my parents’ house so we thought we’d come to see you.” Ryan said, wrapping his arm around Charlana’s waist.

“We came because we have some news.” Katie said, leaning in to give her boyfriend a kiss.

“Oh, so is this your boyfriend you’ve been dating for over a year and we never got to meet?” I asked.

“Yeah, sorry about that. Cher and Justin, this is Nathan. Nathan, these are Cher and Justin.” Katie said.

Nathan shook both mine and Justin’s hands.

“Pleasure to meet you both. I’m such a big fan.” Nathan said before taking Katie’s hand.

“So what’s the big news then?” I asked.

“Well, Nathan and I have been living together for a couple of months now and…” Katie said.

“I asked her to marry me today. She said yes.” Nathan said.

“Oh my gosh! Congratulations both of you!” I said, giving them both a hug.

“This is great news.” Justin said. “Have you thought about a date yet?”

“We were thinking June or July.” Katie said.

“Oh my. Think; this time next year and we’ll all be married… We need to make a toast. Justin, go and get everyone a drink.”

Justin came back 2 minutes later with a glass of wine for everyone and a glass of lemonade for me.

I held my glass up to toast.

“To new beginnings.”
