Perhaps I'm still that immature kid from the past. Here I thought I had moved on, I had forgot about her, and I could find someone better, but I was wrong. It has been roughly 5 years since we last met. The last time I saw her was at the graduation during high school. I can clearly remember her smile, Still fresh in my memories. Like it just happened yesterday.
The room is dimly lit, my hands still typing none stop, but mostly-it hits the backspace key. Its hard to make a conversation that'll look less boring. I want to continue chatting with her, I want to peak her interest, and maybe I'll have another chance.
This has became my daily midnight routine, it started about four weeks ago. I found out Autumn's email and started having a conversation with her, from a simple hi to everything under the sun kinds of topic. It became the best time of the day that I looked up to.
I decided to ask her out for the first time within the past few weeks. Just a meet up. Nothing special, maybe a coffee and the old classic cheese burger.
As I plan this meet up. It made me reminiscence those times during high school.
The both of us decided to meet up next week. I'm quite looking forward to it.
Two days before the meet up, I decided to browse in a nearby clothing store for that date, I'm not really picky with my fashion sense, but this day its an exception. Its for that first meet up after 5 years.
"Finn?" I heard a voice that seemed to be too familiar, but I couldn't figure whose it was. I turned to the direction of the voice and saw a familiar yet unfamiliar face. He wore a black T-shirt, his hair, short and swept sideways. After a few hypothesis, it hit me!
"Woah! Dude is that you?" I asked, then remembered everything that happened and I just have to do something to ease the mixed feelings that's rampaging through my mind, I came closer then punched his right cheek, "That's for Autumn and for vanishing for almost six years!" The guy I just punch was Michael Summers the guy who gave up everything he had, even those who loved him, and started anew.
"I deserve that!!" He spoke while wiping the blood that dripped from the corner of his mouth.
"What the hell have you been doing all these years?" I asked with my emotion, slightly calmed down.
"Just exploring some good parts of the world"
I didn't get what he said. Maybe he's just avoiding the question. So a asked again, "what else?"
He briefly gave a description of what happened to him during the past six years. Then asked, "How's Autumn doing?"
"She's doing fine"
"Michael there you are!" A pretty brunette girl came running towards him then tried a bright red scarf on him, "yeah, this suits you well"
He nodded his head as confirmation for the girl then spoke, "Its nice to see you again Finn, ohh yeah, if your gonna buy a shirt, take that casual blue T-shirt." He and the girl left after.
I took his advice then left to do some other things.
The day that I was eager for and anticipating finally came. I wore the casual shirt Michael advised then left for the coffee shop.
I'm 15 minute early and decided to order myself a coffee to pass time.
Autumn came around 10 minutes later I saw her walked in and I nodded to her when she saw me. God, she became more beautiful.
I ordered the things that I planned out for her, we talked, I cracked up a joke and wished that she'll get the hint, that I haven't changed and I still like her. I remembered Michael and decided to open a topic about him to see how she would react, if there's still lingering emotions for him that still remained after almost six years, or if she's over him. I left out some minor details. I don't want to make her world crumble if she still got a tinge of hope for him.
