My uncle is an entomologist, a person who studies bugs. He, sometimes, worked with an old professor who was his friend. When a new load of insects were imported from the Amazon rainforest. The professor stayed at the lab to help help my uncle. It took some time, but soon, they got to the last boxes. The professor was tired, so decided to leave. It to rain hard, like the earth was crying for something that was about to happen. Since the professor had not brought an umbrella he looked for one his fellow professors had left behind. Meanwhile, my uncle was finishing unloading, when he bumped into a box. The lid fell off and it was empty. My uncle thought it was pretty weird, but he pushed the box into the lab anyway. The professor was just looking in the lab closet when he found a black umbrella. The umbrella was weird looking. It had a round eye at the end of the handle. When the professor toward the light, the eye shined and blinked, the professor didn't notice. He took the umbrella and walked to the front door. My uncle went to the front door and bid the professor a good night. Then the professor opened the umbrella as he walked out into the rain. As soon as much of a raindrop touched landed on it, there was a load rattling sound and a frightful flutter of wings, followed by a load roar. The umbrella was really a large black creature. The professor cried out, in alarm, for help. My uncle was frozen in fear. Neither my uncle or the professor had ever seen this creature before. The creature said in a raspy voice,"I am the Thing." It's head went down to the professor. All of a sudden the old professor's cries could no longer be heard. With a satisfied slurp, the Thing took off. The Thing nor the professor were heard from ever again.
