I paused, doubting my decision, after a moment I came to the conclusion that it was too late to change my mind. I walked up the sloping stone steps up to the large white wooden door and rang the doorbell, I waited a few tense minutes before ringing it again. I was sure someone was home because there was a large Volkswagen Golf parked on the wide pebble drive. After waiting a few more minutes I gave up hope, slipped a note through the door saying "sorry I came when you weren't in, I needed to speak the a Mr C Shaw, I will return in 2 days time at the same time as today (3:00)" and began to walk back to my best friends car who was parked nearby.

****2 days time****

I took a deep breath, preparing myself but skeptical that he would even be in. As I walked up the steps I caught a glimpse of movement in an above window, I rang the bell and stepped back waiting for the door to open, after waiting a while i gave up and began to get upset and worked up; with tears in my eyes I step backwards until I see a pair of intrigued, interested, captivated eyes. I stopped and looked into her flustered, perplexed, doleful eyes, she was a young girl with piercing blue eyes and long blonde hair. I pointed at me, then to her, and finally to the door. She got the hint and vigorously shook her head at the thought, I was intrigued and needed to find out who she was and if she knew why I was here.

I clasped my hands together in a pleading way and I could see her protest weakening, it wasn't long until she held her finger up to say wait and raced away from the window, a minute later she opened the door, looked around anxiously, speaking quickly "come in but not for long!" Before pulling me into the house.

After the little ordeal, she calmed and offered me a cup of tea "yes please, two sugars", she showed me to the living room then rushed off to the kitchen. She couldn't have been older that 15 and was tall for her age, she had a quirky fashion sense and a spring in her step! She had a light angelic voice, the sort where you could listen to it for hours.

I thought for a second on how I would start this shocking piece of news, whether to start with who I am or why I am here? She returned holding two cups of tea, she sat down delicately next to me as graceful as a ballerina.

"My names Lucy I came to see Mr Shaw I have some important news for him and his family" I say in a polite manner

She replies " well my names Elizabeth Shaw but everyone calls me Lizzy, Mr Shaw is my dad, just call him Chris! He won't be back until tomorrow sorry, I can pass a message on though."

"Just tell him that he need to be in this time tomorrow, but say it more politely" I chuckled.

She agreed to the message, but then asked me if I could leave. I was taken aback at that but complied, she explained she wasn't allowed to let strangers into the house and that's what was making her anxious. We headed to the door and just as she opened it a Volkswagen Golf pulled into the drive...
