Street Rat

Prologue

Cold...

The way I've felt for the past two years. Ever since Ruff left and never came back.

I still to this day don't know what happened to him, but I hope he's okay. I feel something fluffy rub against my cheek.

I look to see Thresher, my blue heeler. He nudges my cheek again, urging me to get up. So, I slowly stand and grab my back pack. I look inside to see my two slugs, Tricity and Target, still asleep. I decide not to wake them.

"Come on boy, let's go see if we can find something to eat." I say to Thresher and he sprints off. I laugh at his enthusiasm for food.

I walk out of the alleyway and towards the direction Thresher took off. I started walking and found him sitting patiently in front of house. I stayed out of sight as he barked three times.

A lady opened the door and said " Aww, are you hungry little fella?" Thresher barked and she said " wait right here!" She walked back into the house and came out with a bread stick. She sat it on the ground and Thresher barked once, picked up the bread stick and walked over to me. I split it in half and then took a small chunk out of each of the halves. I handed one half to Thresher and grabbed the two small chunks and placed them in my hand.

"Tris! Target! Wake up!" I said and they jumped out of the bag. I gave them the two small chunks and they started to eat. I also started to eat.

Thresher continued to go around and get more food. After we had finished we started walking out of town. Until we heard mechas roaring in the distance. The slugs jumped on my shoulders and I ran into an alleyway, Thresher following.

I ran to the back of the alleyway so that no one could see me. I saw Blakk and a few of his goons pull up on their ghouled mechas. Facing them was the Shane gang.

"Give up Blakk!" Eli Shane yelled to Blakk as he pulled out his blaster and loaded an Infurnus slug. "Never!" Blakk spat, as he loaded a ghouled Rammstone. Then all hell broke loose.

Slugs and ghouls flying everywhere. The Shane gang managed to defeat all the goons. Blakk then fired a Rammstone at Eli and it hit him in the chest. Black then loaded a ghouled Geoshard and aimed it at Eli's heart.

" Put your blasters down or your precious leader will die" he said and the Shane gang obeyed. I couldn't take it any more!

" Go get him, Thresher." I whispered in his ear and he took off. Running at Blakk and biting his wrist. Blakk screamed in pain and I put Tris in my slingshot and fired. She velocitates and hits Blakk and he falls to the ground. I whistle and Tris jumps onto Thresher and he runs back to me.

The Shane gang run over to Eli. I run over to Blakk and take his ghouled slugs then I jump on a ghouled hyena mecha, that one of his goons left behind. And take off...
