I tried my absolute hardest not to laugh in her face. Had she been anyone else, I would have possibly felt bad for her.
"Daniel Sage is your fiance?" I asked with the straightest face I could muster.
"Well not yet," she smiled at me. "We had a little falling out but now that I'm back, things will go right back to the way they were. His mother is on my side this time, too."
I bit down on my lip to hold myself from grinning. I was really going to love the look on her face after she finds out Daniel is married. And to none other but me. This marriage suddenly became the best thing to ever happen to me.
"I see," I said as I cleared my throat. "Well then, let's not have your fiance waiting," I said as I unlocked the door and walked out. As soon as my back was to her, I couldn't help but let the grin slip onto my face.
I have always wanted to make Juliette miserable. I know that makes me horrible, but she deserved even worse than miserable. I wouldn't even be satisfied if she were to burn into flames right in front of me.
"Where have you been?" the sweet voice of my husband asked as he came rushing to my side. "It's been almost an hour since we left you alone."
I grinned at him as I pulled him to the pool party.
"I was just catching up with an old friend."
"You have a friend here?"
"Old friend."
He didn't say anything else. Instead he found me some shoes before we went and greeted his father.
"You look wonderful," Mr. Sage said as he smiled at me. I smiled back in return before scanning the crowd for Juliette. I was in such a good mood tonight that even Mrs. Sage's non-stop glaring didn't bother me.
"Daniel," she suddenly called out to her son as she came to stand beside us. "I have a surprise for you."
"Surprise?"
"Someone special came to visit from far away," she grinned at him.
"Someone... special..." Daniel looked a little sceptical but didn't ask any further. I on the other hand finally let out the laugh that was begging to be released. Was she really calling an ex-girlfriend just to get rid of me? Let's hope there isn't some sort of messy history between the two because all I want to do is get rid of her asap.
Daniel's family turned to me, surprised that I was randomly laughing to myself.
"I'm excited to meet this special someone," I grinned.
Mrs. Sage gave me a disapproving look before she tended to some of her guests. I went back to scanning the crowd but unfortunately I could not see Juliette anywhere. She would turn up sooner or later anyway, so I decided to just stop thinking about her for the time being.
It didn't take long for her to appear though. Suddenly feeling Daniel stiffen beside me, I turned to face him before following his trail of sight only for my eyes to land on the Satan child.
Gone was her previous dress and instead she now wore a white long-sleeved mermaid ball gown that I could have sworn looked a lot like a wedding dress. To top off her over the top dress, she had her hair done up in a bun and topped it off with a small crystal tiara. I held back my urge to roll my eyes at her extraness. I was going to have lots of fun with her either way. Her dressed as some sort of bride only added to my fun.
