Road to Reborn

Prologue

Dust swirled in the empty alley as it then comes to a calm, two eyes one human one more artificial as it gleams a bright white color. The eye whirs as it focuses in on the target, being a boy who seems normal but that is only from an oblivious point of view. The cyborg sees the boy with a black and blue shirt on wearing black jeans. The boy knows not of his fate but the mechanical being seems to study him, the cyborg zooms in on the boy to see his black back pack filled with blades and a gun at his side. There was something weird about the gun the boy had. There were no bullets, and it gave off a weird energy. The cyborg reveals himself only having a mechanical eye, the rest of his body appearing to be human. The cyborg jumps to the top of a building to follow the boy, but it does not seem to want to hurt the boy as their appearance seems to be identical.

As the boy continues on, the cyborg above him jumps from building to building following him. He walks into a video game store to buy the newest copy of Beast Master 3. The boy purchases the game and then leaves when his phone vibrates with a text from his friend Iris saying, "Wanna hang out tomorrow after school?" He thinks about his not so busy schedule and replies "yea sure". The boy leaves the store with a small grin on his face about the girl that he likes asking to hang out with him.

When the boy gets home his little brother yells "hey Rai how was your day?"

"Oh it was good Kova, I bought Beast Master 3 and Iris wants to hang out after school tomorrow so let's all play it then."

"Oh cool Rai I hoped you would get it I can't wait to play it" Kova says cheerfully.

That night Rai and Kova watched television before they went to bed when their father comes home from work. Rai looks at his little brother seeing his black straight hair and his pecan tan skin color in his doggie pajamas, appearing sad. As their dad goes straight to bed Rai feels terrible when their dad won't talk to Kova. He has to stop him from bugging their dad after his long day at work. Rai puts him to bed when Kova asks his brother "why won't dad talk to us any more is he okay?"

"Dads fine he's just going through a lot and don't worry he still loves us. Okay? Now go to sleep I'll talk to him." Rai walks to his father's room, knocks on the door and steps in after given the ok saying, "Hey dad how come when you get home you don't say anything to Kova, he just wants to talk to you you know?"

His father turns around "I'm sorry it's just been so busy and I'm not feeling too good tell Kova I promise to talk to him when I can, ok? I am just really tired and you should get to bed too."

"Ok dad, good night." As Rai went to bed he sees a small red light in the distance out his window, but ignores it and rolls over. He looks at the lightning tattoo on the front of his left shoulder and creates a small lightning bolt in his palm and then balls his fist, wondering why he has this power and if his brother has this power too.

Rai wakes up to the bothersome sound of his alarm clock and sees Kova eating his cereal. Rai does his morning routine and heads out to school with Kova, who is in middle school. In school, Rai sits with Iris at lunch and notices she has a green tattoo of fire on the back of her hand. Iris has a caramel complexion and long black hair with a streak of green running through the left side. She wore jeans that fit her comfortably and a flannel that was made for guys, but she pulled it off in a tomboy kind of way. It was beautiful.

Rai was familiar with her and the fact that they both have their elemental tattoos. It was a symbol of their bond and their friendship. When they sit outside at lunch they have fun playing with their powers. Iris walks to the garbage when the girl who doesn't like her, shoulders her and makes her spill her garbage. Rai then zaps the girl from her phone to get her back. They both chuckle and continue on with their day.

They meet up with Kova so they can leave. On the walk home the trio talks about their day and head to Rai's house.

Meanwhile the cyborg has been camping out on top of the house across the street so he can keep an eye on Rai. Rai starts up the game with Iris and Kova and they play all night long. When it comes to bed time they all sleep in the living room with the brothers sharing the couch and Iris on the recliner. Kova then asks "Hey Rai what's this thing on my shoulder? It looks like a rock."

Iris and Rai pop up due to the alarming question as Iris looks at his arm and says "Yea it's like a big boulder we have tattoos too see."

Rai shows him his lightning tattoo on his left shoulder and Iris shows him her green fire tattoo on the back of her hand. "Cool now I have one too, but mine doesn't glow like Rai's."

"Huh? How do you know my tattoo glows?"

"Well sometimes at night it glows so bright I can see it from your room."

Iris chimes in to their conversation "Hmm then it probably means you can't use it yet."

This interested Kova "So wait, what can you guys do with your tattoos?"

Rai yawns and rolls over, and Iris says "we'll show you later Kova now let's go to sleep."
