Sub Chapter 1: The Cyborg

The Cyborg

                I think about last night when Kova told me and Iris about his mark he thinks it’s just a glowy tattoo but it is much more. The moment he starts to show his power he better let me know, he just doesn’t know how much I care about him. We wake and head out to the park which is empty when Iris mentions last night. “So what did you want to know about your mark-er… um, tattoo?”

“Why does Rai’s tattoo glow?” I then find a spot for us to sit and I begin to channel my energy letting it flow from my palm in a stream of lightning and zap the monkey bars. (which are made of metal thank goodness)

Kova was shocked (no pun intended) with a little gleam in his eyes amazed by the power his brother beheld. (Now minding he is only ten). Then Iris says “I would use my power, but mine is fire, and green fire at that. So we don’t want people screaming about a forest fire but, I’ll see what I can do.” Rai witnesses Iris spin around and then manifest two small fire balls around her and then she makes them spin around and round until making them collide and then turning them into green sparks that fall harmlessly to the ground, and I prepare myself for Kova’s outburst of excitement.

“Wow that was beautiful! how did you do that?” He asked a good question but Iris and I still only know the basics.

Iris takes over “The way we use our powers is by forming an image in our heads and then we focus on it with our element, letting it flow out in a controlled structure.” 

“I don’t think he’s going to understand that Iris.” I interjected.

Kova looks baffled but he then tries to channel his energy but forgetting his tattoo hasn’t begun to glow yet. I sigh and turn to Iris who is laughing when a powerful gust of wind knocks me off balance and a strange dude in a black cloak flies past us. Our marks glow and so does Kova’s mark we then see a mark on the Black cloaked dude’s chest. I then chase after him while channeling my lighting into my legs to speed me up and ask “Hey! Who are you?”

The boy stops in midair and says “watch out behind you.” I look behind myself to see what appears to be a human like cyborg, but it looked like me.

                                                                                                Iris

                I don’t know what just happened. When the kid in black flew by and brought some weird cyborg, I knew Rai was going to be in trouble. I thought about Kova, what was he gonna do? “Iris what’s happening? Who is that guy and where did Rai go?” Man he asks a lot of questions I didn’t know what to do so I forced my green fire like earlier and made it spin fast enough to fly me and Kova over to him. When the cyborg whisked by me and I saw his face, it looked just like Rai’s. I needed answers. I shot a fire ball to slow it down from interrupting Rai and the cloaked guy’s conversation. The two of them fly over to us; we land when the cyborg comes back for more and now, was the time to fight. The guy in the black cloak launched himself with two spheres of wind at his side and then attacked when Rai followed with two lightning bolt blades one in each hand and charges his look-alike. I provide long distance cover to keep it busy with the wind dude and it seemed like it was going well, but then the worst happened… The cyborg just knocked it all aside and back handed Rai away, then punched the wind guy out into the forest. That left just Kova and I. I launched as many fire balls as I could and then rocketed myself at the cyborg, my last one growing bigger and bigger. I punched it in his robotic face when he disappeared extending his chain like arm towards me tripping me up and slamming into the ground.

Now I was fed up. I rose and still no sign of Rai and the wind guy. I was so enraged that I wouldn’t be able to protect them that I was engulfed in green flames. Then something weird occurred… Nothing around me burned. Instead trees, grass and flowers grew larger and I was a green blaze, attacking the cyborg in a flurry but it still wasn’t enough. I looked at Kova who was about to cry about his brother and he started to glow. The ground began to shake. The rocks rose form the ground but he wasn’t controlling them. He was still crying and was barely standing when I was hit and I was knocked out.

Kova

                I couldn’t stand just sitting aside with everyone getting beat up and Iris trying her hardest to defend me. I don’t know what happened. I just wanted to be strong and not be defenseless. I wanted to fight, but I just made things worse. I had to run, but where? And not without my brother. Iris flew by me and then walks up to me saying “this thing is too strong Kova. You have to run and find Rai. Ill hold him off.” I didn’t know what she was thinking, but she was the only one who could keep up with that thing so I ran past their fight to find Rai and maybe the wind dude because he could help us.

                I was a little angry when I found the wind guy hanging from a tree. I let him down and then asked him what his name was he says in the meanest way possible he says “If you need to know you little brat my name is Axel and before you ask any more questions, I use wind power.” I wanted to hit him for the fact that he called me a little brat when he looked like two years older than me (and wasn’t he just stuck in a tree?] but he showed me the wind mark on his upper chest under his neck. I told him we need to go find my brother Rai and he was acting like he didn’t know who that was and again, I wanted to hit him. He rushed like he already knew where he was and then we see a spark of lightning in the short distance and I felt so relieved. I ran to my brother. Rai then runs to me and pats my head to see if I’m okay. I tell him Iris is in trouble and he and Axel run towards the field that they were fighting in earlier to see Iris slammed into a tree.

I try to channel my power to build a barrier over her but all I could get was a wall and then Rai and Axel rush in to intercept the cyborg when they clash, ready for their rematch. I want to help but all I can do is just make a small quake and that’s not gonna help. But in the middle of my thought, I see a white light. Not wind, not fire, but a laser. I dropped down and roll over and I fight with what little power I have. I must fight. I must help the others.
