It was one of those days when it's better to just stay inside and never leave your bed, it was a terrible day. If only she had known that it was going to be far worse than what she believed it to be, she could have prevented it from the  happening. Luna had woken up once again to a cold apartment, the only warmth she had received so far was from the blanket she had wrapped herself in last night.

As she was to leave the house she noticed a familiar taunting envelope, ever since her sixteenth birthday, the damned day her family vanished from the world and its memories, she had been receiving them. Everyday was a number, a countdown to her doom and yesterday she had reached 'one'.

As she walked to her school she realised no one would congratulate her all day.

Now living as Amber her life was different, her birthday wasn't hers, her name wasn't hers, even her house wasn't her home anymore.

At the end of the day she sat at the only place she could be herself, the school's rooftop, ironic how she used to be so scared of heights her mother would have to reassure her nothing bad would happen, as soon as her mother and family vanished, her fears did too.

She closed her eyes and let the wind caress her face and bare arms as if it was comforting her.

One tear, two tears, three tears and heavy rain was what it took to make her realise it was getting late and that she should be heading home. And so she did.

She took her keys out, as soon as the reached the door she noticed the door was ajar. Fear crept deep inside her, did they find her? Was this the end of a sick game? Will she see her family?

She slowly made her way into her house, she checked the living room and kitchen but found nothing unusual, she grabbed the nearest thing she could use as a weapon to protect herself from the unknown danger in the building.

She decided to go and check in her bedroom. As she entered nothing was unusual, then a waft of cold wind hit her and she spotted the strange shadow in the balcony, as she was about to reach her phone to call the authorities and run out of the house her hand was twisted behind her back. She tried to fight back and get out of the painful chokehold of the attacker, after elbowing the attacker multiple times she managed to free herself.

But she realise that she was now trapped in between the shadow and a fall from her balcony, she tightened her hand on the knife she had grabbed and tried to run past the attacker whilst cutting his side at the same time, she however failed due to it grabbing the knife from her hand with an inhumane speed, now her own weapon was held to her, she took two steps back before hitting the railing.

Luna didn't give up just yet, she still wanted to get out of here alive, she tried to push past the shadow but as soon as she lunged forward the shadow disappeared; she started running towards her door but her leg suddenly became painful, she looked down and saw blood gushing out from a cut in her leg, she still didn't give up.

Luna felt arms gripping her waist tightly, she felt like she was flying and then she was falling from her balcony, prepared herself to fall on the hard concrete.

She closed her eyes and regretted all the things she still  hadn't done, she regretted not finding out what happened to her family.

Finally she fell, but instead of a hard concrete street she fell into cold and dark water.

She felt herself run out of breath. She felt her life flash before her eyes. She felt losing control of herself. She finally gave up on trying to swim and fight to survive.

She started to fall unconscious but she felt someone tugging at her and dragging her upwards.
