School isnt cool

Previously on Friends.....

"Look," Ricky says. "We're really sorry for calling you a liar. But can you blame us? Ella is-"

"-too pretty for me. I get it. But I'm not lying."

"Fine. We believe you. If you're willing to prove it to us," Dawn says.

"How? I didn't videotape us kissing or anything."

"We know. But we'll throw a party. A huge one. Next week. Then we'll invite Ella and you have to get her to kiss you. In front of everyone."

"And us too!" Dicky says.

"Yes Dicky. Us too. We're part of "everyone"," Dawn says. She looks at me. "So what do you say?"

This feels so wrong. I shouldn't care what everyone thinks of me. But I do.

"It's on."

Ella's POV

When the next day arrives, I get ready quickly for school. Quickly as in I brush my teeth, shower, get dressed, and eat breakfast in 20 minutes. I don't know why I would be excited for school. Maybe it's because I'm excited to see the quads or something. Or maybe a quad. I haven't seen Nicky since Friday, which was when he kissed me after school. I've liked for some time now, but knowing that he likes me back and that I got my first kiss from him...wellllll....it changes everything.

I go to Mae's room to go wake her up, because she's overslept again.

"MAE!!! WAKE UPPPP!!!!" I sing.

She groans into her pillow. "Ugh! Cool your jets a little."

"But have to go to school. Like right now!" I say.

"Since when are you excited to go school?"

"Um...since Nicky kissed me," I blurt.

Mae springs up from her bed. "Say what now?!"

"Yea...sorry I didn't tell you," I try to hide a smile.

"Okay! I'm gonna go get ready, then you better give me the deets."

I smirk. "If you're lucky."

Mae jumps out of her bed and goes to get ready for school. She's done in about 30 minutes, which is really quick for Mae.

"Girls! Let's go!" Auntie Val says. Mae's mom's name is Valeria. So Valeria Valentine.

"Coming mom!" Mae says. She turns to me as we go downstairs. "Fill me in in the car."

We both grab a protein bar and follow Mae's mom to the car. Once we get in, Mae bombards me with questions.

"How did it feel? Is he a good kisser? How did it even happen? Where did it happen? When did it happ-?"

"Okay, slow down. I got a note in my locker on Friday, and I thought it was Dawn trying to apologize for humiliating me and Nicky. The note said I should meet the person in the auditorium. Long story short, it's was Nicky, and he wanted to-"

"-confess his undying love to you," Mae says. "That all makes sense now. So that's when he kissed you? That's so romantic!"

I laugh a little. We get to school shortly and once we're in the building, I go on a little scavenger hunt to find Nicky. I see Dicky and Ricky, so Nicky must be there too.

I walk up to them. "Hey have you guys seen Nicky?"

"Oh hey Ella!" Dicky says. "Why are you looking for Nicky? Oh my god! Is he lost?"

I laugh. "No. Wait, is he?!"

"No. I saw him talking to Miles beside the water fountain," Ricky says.

"Did you say Miles?" Mae says. "I need to talk to him. Let's go Ella."

Mae grabs my arm and we walk over to where the guys are. Miles and Nicky turn to us.

"Oh hey ladies," Miles says. "What's up?"

"Miles, sweetie...I need to talk to you," Mae says.

He shrugs. "Okay."

"Alone." Mae grabs his arm and leads him away, leaving me and Nicky alone.

"Um...hi," I say.

"Hey," he replies. He looks like something is bothering him.

Nicky's POV

Dawn and the guys are standing a few feet behind Ella. They want me to ask her to the fake party.

"Um...how's it going?" I ask.

She looks nervous. But not as nervous as I am. "Good. Hey listen can I-"

"The quads and I are throwing a party this weekend. You in?"

"Will you be there?" she asks, smiling a little.

"Well, I live there, so..."

Her smiles disappears. "Right. That was a stupid question."

Now I feel bad. She was clearly flirting and I didn't flirt back.

"But yeah. I'll be there if you'll be there," I smile. "My mom wanted me to help her at the store, but that can wait."

That was a lie.

Ella smiles. "Okay. Then I'll be there."

She hugs me and I'm startled for a sec, but then I hug her back. The rest of the quads put on a surprised face behind Ella and I put on my 'I told you so' face. Dawn puts on her 'but she hasn't kissed you yet' face and they all walk away.

Ella gets out of the hug and smiles at me again. "I should get to class. See you around?"

"Yeah," I nod. After she's gone, Miles comes back to me with a sad expression. "You okay?"

"No. Mae broke up with me."
