With a shaky breath, Jimin looked up and gazed into Taehyung's confused eyes.
"TaeTae," Jimin giggled, clasping his hands with Taehyung's (heart thumping when he didn't retract them), "I have a secret to tell you."
A month had passed since his chat with Seokjin.
"Oh?" Taehyung mused, familiar, warm smile on his face. "Do tell."
During that month, Jimin had tortured himself with wanting to tell Taehyung and wanting to preserve their friendship.
Jimin let out another nervous giggle, he couldn't tell if it was because he was actually nervous or if it was the cursed soulmate side-effect. "Alright, but promise me you won't freak out? Or...or leave me...?"
Jimin finally had the courage to seek counsel from Jungkook--who freaked out when he realized that Jimin had found his soulmate before him--and was encouraged to go for it, regardless of how nervous he was.
Taehyung's eyes widened, but he nodded slowly. "I promise, Jimin-ah. I would never leave you for no reason."
Taehyung hadn't visited the library until Thursday that same week.
Jimin found comfort from his words.
Jimin had avoided touching upon the soulmate thing, seeking to comfort Taehyung from the recent shocking news.
"O-kay," he breathed, another giggle escaping him.
During that time, Jimin noticed that Taehyung smiled more often than before and allowed himself to laugh a little louder.
"U-um," he stammered, heat rushing to his cheeks, "gimme a moment, please."
Jimin hated noticing it, but loved seeing and hearing it.
Taehyung chuckled and brushed his hand against his cheek. "Of course, ChimChim. Take all the time you need."
He pointed it out to Taehyung one day when the fact that noticing something like that might be a bit strange slipped his mind.
Jimin lowered his gaze away from Taehyung's warm, chocolate eyes and down to their clasped hands, warmth spreading throughout his chest looking at Taehyung's hands intertwined with his.
Taehyung simply smiled and replied with, "I dunno. I guess you're contagious, Jiminnie."
"Taehyung-ah," he whispered, "I'm...your soulmate."
Jimin decided on that day that if he were to live the rest of his days with a smiling Taehyung, then he'd rather live them as lovers.
