Beneath the Eyes

Chapter 5

Everybody stayed were they were. Silence filling the room. Delphi stood up slowly and broke the silence.

"Councilor Jon I was just saying hello when LeAnna attacked me", she said.

"Bullshit", Lizzy muttered. Her mother whipped her head around.

"Watch that tounge my dear daughter", Delphi hissed. The councilor Jhon stepped in front of us, blocking her way.

"I agree with Lizzy for there is no hello when it comes to you", he said voice steady and quiet. I had to smirk.

"Now Delphi if you do not leave Courtney alone I will personal have you replaced from your chair in the council", his voice held an edge which made Delphi back up. She was speechless for once.

"Yes sir", she forced out. "Let's go Rose", her and Rose walked to the door where two gaurds were standing. Delphi didn't even acknowledge Lizzy and Lizzy didnt mind. Instead she rushed over towards me, seeing if I was hurt or not.

"I am fine, really I am", I said for the thousandth time. When they were gone councilor Jon turned to us.

"What were you guys doing here", he said trying to figure out what really went on.

"We just stopped by to see LeAnna and check in on her", Lizzy lied. The councilor gave her a suspicious look then looked at me.

"She's telling the truth", I said hoping he won't noticed the slight nervousness in my voice.

"Where are you guys heading now then?", he asked crossing his arms over his chest looking down at us. At 6'2 it gets tiring looking up at him so I look at his chest.

"Um.....", Lizzy said.

"We are heading to my great grans house", I blurted out the only thing coming to my mind.

"Yea what she said", Lizzy said nodding her head. Councilor Jon kept looking at us for awhile. He sighed finally, unceasing his arms.

"Alright then but please be careful, I don't want to have to break up another fight", he said stepping aside for us.

"We will", we both said and bolted for the door, exiting the green house.

When we were close to my great grans Lizzy spoke since the greenhouse accident.

"Why are we going to your great grans?", she asked, puzzled.

"Well since LeAnna can't anwser my questions", I said, pushing back the imagine of fangs sinking in her neck. I kept repeating that she will be fine.

"Great gran might be the person I need to see. She usually tells me anything.", I said.

"Okay but we need to be quick. We can't be late for the meeting tonight with the councils. They said another kingdom will be there", Lizzy said.

"Don't worry we wont be long", I hope ran across my mind right when we got to her house. Her house is kind of the same as mine. We get to the front door and before I can knock, the door swings open. There on the front steps stood a gorgeous woman with long blonde hair, sea green eyes; she was tall and thin. She looked to be in her twenties and was model material.

"Great gran", I said giving her a hug.

"Courtney my dear", she said hugging me back. Her voice smooth as silk.

"Hello Lizzy", she said looking past me after we finished hugging.

"Hello lady Rosaleen", Lizzy said.

"What are you guys doing here? You should be getting ready for the meeting tonight, it's supposed to be big tonight", great gran said. She is one of the many creauters that is from the beginning of time. They are powerful, strong, and theu feed alot more then normal. Which makes them super dangerous.

" Well...um..... I wanted to ask you some questions that have been on my mind", I said nervously. Great gran smiled the way way LeAnna did, hesitantly.

"Of course dear, come on and we will talk", she held the door open for us stepping aside. Though I wonder why she is looking around the yard nervously. She quit and shut the door, telling me there's no going back now.
