"I was a traitor, Doctor," I hissed, watching his eyes dilate with disbelief, "I told the Daleks the one thing that would kill us all... Told them the one thing that would create the end of the Time Lords. The one thing that kept us living, Doctor... I gave them the power of a Time Lord... More than that, I gave them me. A Time Lord who still had twelve other lives to spare. So really, I gave them twelve Time Lords... Twelve Time Lords armed with the things that would kill the others."
There was silence for a moment and then the Doctor shook his head.
"No," he said, "It can't be true."
"Why would I lie about something like that?" I countered, "You wanted to know, Doctor! So badly that you went against my wishes! I'm a hundred and eight years old, Doctor, and I've been suffering a good deal to many of them. All I wanted was forgiveness, but that's pretty much impossible when there's no one left to forgive you! That's why I was so happy when you showed up in your type 40 TARDIS, proclaiming you were the last of the Time Lords! I wanted you to like me! I wanted to lie to myself and still believe there was hope for me... But there isn't. That look on your face says it all, Doctor. You want me dead. Just like any other Time Lord would. More than that, you want me to suffer... So do it. Make me suffer, Doctor! If I can't be forgiven, at least let me pay for what I've done!" I completely broke down at that point and crumpled to the ground, sobbing.
After a minute or two, his jacket was placed on my shoulders and an arm was wrapped around me, protectively.
"You've been forgiven," he whispered, softly.
