Elden wasn't the biggest or strongest kid, but he was fast and was good with a bow, which made him perfect for taking care of his father's sheep and cows. He lived in the out skirts of Edinburgh a huge city with a fancy castle where King Merek lives. One day Elden was sitting in his small house in his tiny village polishing his dads sword. His dad was a simple silver smith that could make a decent blade. Then his dad yelled at him "ELDEN! Go take the sheep out!" Elden grabbed his low quality bow, and arrows and his staff. He had exactly 24 sheep and 13 cows. his family was poor, and didn't have much so each animal was very valuable to them. Once he got the animals out to the field "good there all here". It was a pretty normal day in the field for Elden only had to chase off 1 wolf. He started thinking about his dreams to join the group of the kings elite soldiers called Elite Silver. Certainly you can not just join the Elite Silver first you have to go through The Badgers a group of soldier trainees. The leaders of The Badgers were respected commanders of the Elite Silver they were the ones who decided if you were to go into the regular army or the Elite Silver . This reminded Elden that tomorrow was a big big big day. It was Selection day. The Day the Elite Silver went to the towns and selected kids of age 14-18 for The Badgers. This only Happened once every 3 years. Elden knew he was the youngest and not the strongest, but he though he had a chance.
