The Yellow Daffodil
It stains the walls around her
That awful color yellow is splashed all over the walls
Its on her face and body
All she wanted was someone to help and understand
Its splattered against her favorite teddy bear
The one her friend gave her yesterday because it was her birthday
It splattered on her precious canopy bed
The one she loved lying on and talking to her love on the phone all day long
The color yellow was everywhere and nowhere
Yellow was the color her parents walked in to see
Her mother screamed and yelled
While her father had a horrified look in his face
Her older sister heard the commotion and went to see what was going on
When she saw what happened
She broke into tears
All she could see around the room was yellow and then there she was
Her little sister on her bed lying there with a small smile on her face
It looked like she was resting but in a pool of yellow
They had to call the ambulance to come get her
The police came too
They put yellow police tape all around the house
Treating it like a crime scene
Maybe that's just exactly what it was
