Elizabeth

I've only been at this school for half a month and I'm already one of those sixth graders who sprint down the halls. I'm wearing a pink crop top and high wasted ripped jeans, my friends told me I look like a instagram, mom. The reason I'm sprinting is to sign up for Romeo and Juliet. I finally make it to the door of the drama room in a huff. I catch my breath. "Lizzie, what happened to you?" my friend, Sarah asks me. Sarah has dark chocolate skin, that always looks perfect and shiny, her hair is dark brown ringlet curls and she has blue eyes that always seem intimidatingly confident. She's wearing overalls and a green turtle neck. "Sign up- tech, where is it?" I ask really fast. I knew I should've gotten it while I was in drama, I have it for third period. My wavy blonde hair probably looks like a mess and that added to my light skin probably makes me like I escaped from a insane asylum, also the fact that my blue eyes are probably really bright since I just sprinted up to the third floor from the first floor.

I'm not going to be an actor, what do you take me for? Someone who's legs doesn't shake like a wobbly goat in front of an audience? This is my first time being in a play that isn't Mary Had A Little Lamb, I wanna take things slow. Sarah hands me a packet and looks at me like I'm a crazy person who just put chocolate on corn and ate it. Ew, just thinking about that makes me want to puke.

"Thank you" I smile weakly. "Lizzie! Can you help me with something? I need to get this into the girls dressing room!" I hear someone ask from inside the drama room. I walk inside the classroom to see a boy with short brown hair, light skin and emerald green eyes with freckles. He's wearing khaki shorts and a grey hoodie, with the hood down. Wait, that's Caleb, he's in my drama period. He's standing next to a rack where you would hang clothing. He's taller than me and a little shorter than the rack. "Karen told me to take this monster to the girls dressing room, but I don't think I can do it by myself" Caleb says. He usually calls me Blondie. It's a little strange hear him call me by my nick-name. His eyes always seem to be darting around, not able to focus on something in particular.

Karen is the drama teacher and the person who asked who asked Caleb to take the rack to the girls dressing room that we also use as a costume room. Karen is also the most awesome teacher ever! I just love her so much, she's like a really cool, really nice- aunt. "That's fine, I'm being picked up at 4:15, so I have time" I shrug, blushing. There's also a person named Rachel, she runs the light and sound group, she's a teacher helper, she's pretty fun but she can get really angry, it's scary.

On top of the rack, there are boxes filled will shirts and colored jeans and props. That seems like a disaster waiting to happen. I walk to the back of the rack and start rolling it forward and Caleb pulls it and keeps looking behind him just to check if there's something we might hit. We roll it out of the classroom. Sarah's gone, I was gonna ask her if she needed a ride, but oh well. Not many students are left in the halls but there's still a few. The doors to the balcony of the auditorium, or as Karen calls it, The House. I open the doors and Caleb pulls it threw and I follow after him.

We roll it to the door of the girls dressing room. I open the door and Caleb pulls it threw again. Finally, were in. There's two big closets in then a door leading to the main costume area, where every thing is hung.

I help Caleb roll it over to an open space against the back wall. "Thanks, Blondie" Caleb smiles. I'm kind of relieved to hear him call me that again.

Caleb leans against the rack. "You know, I signed up to play-" Caleb is cut off by one of the boxes falling over, covering him in wizard hats. I burst out laughing. Caleb laughs so hard that he falls to the ground. We laugh even harder. I fall to the floor too and I clutch my chest because I'm laughing so hard that I can hardly breath.

I stand up and finally I stop laughing. Caleb stops laughing too and stands up. "The wizard hat avalanche of 2017" Caleb smirks. I giggle. "We need to clean this up" I smirk, picking up one of the wizard hats and turning it around.

After cleaning up all of the wizard hats and putting the box back on top of the rack, I get a text. I pull my phone out of my floral print back pack and see that my Dad texted me. The text reads, 'I'm here'.

"I have to go" I say. "Okay, see you later, Blondie!" Caleb calls to me as I walk out. I smile as I walk out of the auditorium and out of the building. I have a feeling that this play will be fun.
