Moving through the halls is basically impossible! It's like a wave of people pushing and screaming at a concert!
You basically have to fight your way through the crowd of crazy teens just to get through the doors! The smell of dust and stale bread seem to slither it's way into your nose and the sight of grumpy teens seem to be everywhere you look. People push and elbow me as they try to get past putting me in an even worse mood then I already am.
And the cause of my grumpy mood swing would have to go to that jerk with the cute blond hair and vibrant blue eyes that glimmer like jewels. I don't even know why I try! I mean one second he acts like he might be interested in me then the next second he acts like I'm a small bug that he just hit with his jeep!
This is why I don't date and get crushes because you always end up getting hurt! It's pointless!
"Woah Claire, what's up with the frowny face and sad eyes bæ?" Says Acacia in a worried tone.
I must have been to caught up in my own thoughts to even realize that I was frowning.
"Oh nothing! Just caught up in my own thoughts worrying about that Spanish quiz coming up." I say practically lying straight through my teeth.
Absolutely no one and I mean it when I say no one knows about my little slight crush on Jace!
That's the thing about me, I have horrible trust issues. I don't really trust anyone accept Acacia and even her I don't know...it's just been so long since I've had a crush on anyone and I don't want to deal with rejection!
"Okkkkk... Well anyway r u still up for Nathan's party tonight? You know he really wants you to come!" Says Acacia as she wiggles her eyebrows and smiles like a manic.
"Yah well I'm not really in the mood to hang out with the guys... You know how about we just have a girls night out! Like with you, kimmy, Stacey, Abby, Jasmine, & I!" I say with a little more enthusiasm.
"Yah sounds good with me I guess. What do u want to do? Movies, pizza, Mikes drive thu? We could have a movie night and pool day after school!" Suggests Acacia.
"Yah movie night and a pool day sound good to me Chica!" I say with a big toothy smile on my face.
"Okkkk... Well I will check with everybody to see if they want to come over after school and you can pick up the pizza right?" Says Acacia as she starts to walk away to her first period class.
"Yah I will get the pizza and I'll be at your house by 4:30." I throw over my shoulder just loud enough for her to hear over the roar of the mass of students swarming in the hallways.
I slam my locker shut with my binder and supplies in my hand and start to head to Kimmy's locker. Once I locate her locker I find her struggling with the lock on her locker making me smile.
Typical Kimmy! Let me explain she is known as the blonde of our group. It's not that she is dumb or anything she is very smart actually.... Let's just say she doesn't really think before she speaks. She says the dumbest things sometimes but that's just Kimmy for you!
"Hey Kimmy!" I say as I walk up to her locker.
"Hey Clairebear!" She greets me with a smile and by some miracle she has got her locker open and stuff out.
"Aren't you just pumped for science! I know I am!" I say sarcastically with enthusiasm.
"Oh bæ you know it!" Kimmy says back with just as much sarcasm while laughing.
"So are you going to Nathan's party tonight?" Kimmy asks me.
"Nah man. Acacia and I where thinking that after school we would all go over to her house for a pool day and stay over for a movie night. Are you in?" I ask Kimmy as we start to swerve through the hallway to the staircase to start to head up to the science lab.
"Yah sounds good to me, what are we going to tell Nathan though? He was expecting all of us to come." Kimmy says.
"I don't know but we are going to have to come up with something fast because here he comes." I say quickly.
Coming down the hallway is the man himself. Nathan Wicker is part of the popular guys crowd. He isn't the the king of the group but he is definitely part of the guys crowd. He is mostly known for having his parties. He has been one of my best guy friends since fourth grade but I don't see him as anything more than that....
"Hey Claire! Hey Kimmy!" He greets us with a cheeky smile.
"So are you guys coming to my party tonight?" He asks us.
"Umm, well....." I start to say but can't come up with a good excuse not to attend. My group of friends never miss a party without a MAJOR reason not to be there.
"Clair's grandma's sister died last night and she is really shaken up about it, so the girls and I decided to be there to comfort her with the lose of her family member." Kimmy rushes out the words so quickly it takes my brain a second to register what she just said.
I look at Kimmy confused about her sudden lie and she gives me a quick look and I get the message.
"Yah it was tragic... The girls and I decided it would be best if we just had a girls night in." I say to Nathan with a sad look on my face.
"Oh I'm so sorry Claire about your loss! I hope everything is ok." Nathan says with a little concern.
"Yah I'll be ok." I sniffle a sake sob.
"Yah well-" Kimmy is cut off by the bell ringing signaling that class has started and we are officially late to science.
Kimmy and I start sprinting up the stairs to the hall leading towards the science lab. Laughing our heads off!
