Elaboration: When you do find your soulmate, your hair color is amplified and brightened from then on (unless it is dyed).
Imagine having perfect blue, pink, and purple hair, representing the bisexual flag. Imagine having pink, yellow, and light blue hair representing the pansexual flag. Imagine having a full rainbow in your hair representing the homosexual flag, or hair that's black, a couple shades of grey, and white, representing the heterosexual flag.
Imagine seeing platonic soulmates with black, grey, white, and purple hair, representing the asexual flag. Imagine seeing a guy and a girl together being soulmates, but they both have rainbow hair, since they are each other's exceptions.
Imagine parents trying to dye their child's hair, trying to get that horrible rainbow out. Imagine homophobic people looking down at anyone who has hair that isn't black and white, knowing that if they're soulmate is queer, they probably are too. Imagine extreme discrimination, or people trying to change their hair color just to stop people from harassing them.
