Chapter One

Alexis's p.o.v

I hear my alarm clock go off as I sit there in bed, looking at my scars. I take a deep breath, getting up slowly as I wipe my eyes.

I go into the bathroom to freshen up as I finish a few minutes later. I go to my closet and pick out an oversized peach sweater with black ripped jeans, throwing on my peach converse as I leave my hair out, brushing it quickly.

I jog down the stairs, picking up my bag as I grab a banana walking out the door. I get in my car, starting it up as I drive towards the college.

I pull into a parking spot, opening my door as I get out, I catch a few stares as I quickly walk into the school, going to my locker as I lean on it for a few minutes.

My friend Cali walks up to me "hey, you ok?" She asks as I look up "Cali am I ever ok?" I say while she stares at me "I don't know Alexis but I wish you would stop being an ass!"

I roll my eyes, getting into my locker, muttering under my breath as she walks away from me.

I take out my books and stuff for chemistry as I slam my locker shut, walking to class slowly and miserably.

I open the door as a few eyes fall on me, I walk to my seat in the back of the class as I sit down.

"Ok class, today you will be paired up with a partner today for your big experimemt!" I hear my teacher Mr. Collins say as I roll my eyes, clearly not giving a fuck about what he says.

"Ok so Alexis you'll be partnered up with Michael, I don't want to hear about any problems." I hear gasps around the room as I grunt.

I see Michael walk towards me as I look up, taking my books and notebook out "we can work in the library if you want... instead of working in here" I mumble as he nods "sure, whatever."

I raise my hand to ask if we can go to the library as he grips my hand, pushing it down as I raise a brow, snatching my hand back.

"Don't worry about it, let's just go" he says as I nod, I slide out of my chair as I grab my things and follow behind him as he nods his head at the teacher.

I clear my throat as we walk through the hallway "so you just... do whatever you want?" I ask as he continues walking "doesn't matter, let's just get this over with."

I shrug it off and nod "ok then..." I say as I open the library doors, walking after him as we sit at a table in the back.

I open my notebook, grabbing my mechanical pencil as he stares at me. I look up and meet eyes with him "I see one of your cuts..." I hear him whisper as I quickly shove my sweater further down my arms "I don't cut..." I mutter as he stares me down.

I keep my eyes locked with his as he clears his throat "don't lie to me, I hate liars" he says as I roll my eyes "I hate people, period" I say, moving my eyes away from his.

"Why...?" He asks me as I sigh "can we just work-"I start to say as he cuts me off "why do you do that to yourself!?" He demands as I feel my eyes well up with tears.

"Just leave it alone!" I shout as a stray tear slides down my cheek, he tenses up as his jaw clenches "whatever man" he says as I slump into my chair.

"I'm so hurt.." I whisper as I sob slightly "why?" He asks again as I swallow the lump in my throat.

"Don't worry about it" I say as I grab my things and slide out of the chair "I can't do this, I gotta go, I gotta get out of here!" I exclaim as I rush out of the library, running out of the school as I reach my car, falling against it.

"Alexis!" I hear a voice shout as I look back, seeing Michael jog towards me. I try to quickly unlock my car as he reaches me, pulling me into his arms "I'm sorry... I'm sorry" he says as I wrap my arms around him, sobbing into his shoulder.

Michael's p.o.v

I don't know why but there's something about this girl, she's hurt and she needs someone right now so I want to be that someone in her life.

I feel her tighten her grip as she pulls closer to me, for some reason I had the nerve to cry as I backed up, leaning against someone's car, still holding her.

"Why are you doing this?" I hear her ask as I close my eyes "because I wanna be here for you" I whisper into the crook of her neck.

She backs up and looks at me, tears staining her cheeks as I shove my hands into my pockets "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have..." I say as I shake my head, looking down.

"I appreciate it" I hear her whisper as I smile faintly, looking up at her as she tries to smile but fails, turning it into a frown.

"How about you come over to my place, but not if you don't want to!" I say quickly as I rub the back of my neck.

She nods slightly "I would like to, I'll come around later, give me your number please."

I hide my smile as I nod "will do" I take her phone from her hand as I quickly type my number into her phone.

I send myself a message saying :It's Alexis😌💜: as I hand it back to her, smiling softly "see you later Alexis."

I wave at her as I walk towards my car, I think my heart skipped a beat every time she looked at me. I hope that I'm not catching feelings... DAMN.
