Hello hello its Elise!

Just thought I'd come in with a weight update today haha.

So its the last day of January and I hit my January goal weight of 138 lbs yay! I'd have so say that I struggled a lot with this one, especially because I didn't think it'd be even possible to get down out of the 140s.

I've been there since November, and I just can't express how happy I am to just be out of it!

I think what definitely helped was joining a community on MyFitnessPal (iknow iknow everyone talks about this app) this group is called "Not-that-heavy girls" and every month there's a new discussion page type thingy where we update update each other on our weight loss journey.

So it's really helped me stay accountable and even allowed myself to understand that everyone fails and to not be afraid of failure.

Furthermore, another factor for what has helped me out was competing against my friend to see who can lose more weight. (it sounds weird, but allow me to explain)

My friend and I are both weight loss buddies, and we constantly try to motivate each other to lose weight. And tbh a good portion of our conversation is about it haha. And because I know that she's extremely extremely competitive, I came up with the idea of having a competition to see who could lose more weight in a set period of time.

It was called "Till the End of January" it  started during our winter break and end on February first.

I've lost a total pounds bc of that competition, I'm not really sure how much she's lost herself, but I'll find out tomorrow :)

Anyways her and I have discussed it and she liked the idea, in fact we created another one that starts from the beginning of 2nd semester till March Break (or spring break as most people would call it)

I mentioned to her how after finding out how much we lost tomorrow it'd motivate us even more.

If I were to have lost more than her, it'd cause her competitive side to come out for this next competition and motivate me to lose even more than me. Where as if I did lose more weight than her it'd cause me to keep it up and continue to lose weight. And vice verse.

Either way I'd have to say these 2 things definitely played a huge factor in keeping me accountable for losing weight. (especially in a healthy manner)

Your girl,
