Chapter 12 - Shot

"Of course if you try to repeat the same mistake your ancestors did long ago same will happen to you Caleb." Alex held on to the seal. Now he didn't want to return it.

"Exactly" Caleb fired the pistol. The bullet pierced through Alex Right shoulder and came out on the other side.

Alex screamed loudly and knelled down, Holding his shoulder from the left hand. Thick blood poured out like a river. The pain was unbearable his whole body was burning and the hand was almost paralyzed but he held on to the seal.

"You betrayed me Caleb " Alex said between gritted teeth. He couldn't bear this pain, He was slowly bending to the ground ,his hand felt heavy and finger were going numb, Sweat beads started forming on his face and he felt a little breathing difficulty. He haven't experienced this before. Caleb laughed he walked at him and bent down to get the seal off Alexs hands. But Alex used the remaining strength to keep the seal with him. He punched Caleb's face with his left fist and tried to get up with the support of his left arm. Alex was swaying and didnt have a balance . He somehow made it near the cave wall and tried to move with the help of the wall. But Caleb relieved from the punch , he pinned Alex to the cave wall and smashed his head to the wall. And Alex kicked hard on Calebs leg and freed himself. Blood was oozing out of his right shoulder and he was becoming more and more tired. His breath seem to slow down and eyes are weary but Alex didnt want to give up. Suddenly Alex was hit on the head with a gun by someone who came from behind.

"owwwwwwwwwww"

He turned to see who it was but he didnt have enough time to gather his thoughts and think or see. He saw a glimpse of the figure.

Alex swayed and he knelt on the ground holding his head with the left arm. Alex thought it was the end. Darkness took over him his eyes shut and fell on the ground with his face down.

"Nice work Rachel" She didn't seem to be happy with it. She looked away but nodded at Caleb.

Caleb knelt besides Alex and took the seal. He smiled for himself.

"Finally Rachel We have almost completed our mission. Lets get this seal to work. Let him rot here."

Rachel turned back to see Alex. She wished for Lin to find him soon before it's too late. She had no choice.

Both of them left.
