Chapter 1

Televisions all changed to a news channel in an instant. Chaos in the cities and towns. Buildings on fire, everything is total anarchy. I cannot fathom what is happening to everyone. People eating other people, how is this all happening? Just yesterday scientists found the cure for Alzheimer's, now this? Gina and Jon's jaw are hitting the floor in absolute shock. All I can think about is my friends. I need to get them here, and I need to get them here fast. I immediately call Brian.

"Dude. You need to get your family and as much non-perishable items as you can get, and get over here. Now!"

"We are already packing, we'll be there soon" He responds. I hang up the phone and call jelly, Justin, whisper, and Erick. They all agree they need to get to my house. Gina calls her friends while Jon gets to the poll barn to get all the shit out of it.

Soon the TV goes to static. Nothing but snow. I can't help but to ponder the worst. Soon after the president pops up on the TV.

"My fellow Americans. Today is a very dark day, but nothing to be overly concerned about. Everyone needs to just stay inside until this is all taken care of. This should all blow over soon enough." He then disappears as the power turns off in the house. Gina goes into panic. Jon tries and tries to calm her down but does nothing. I eventually slap her telling her to stay calm everyone should be here soon.

While saying this Danna, Roger, Nate, and Cam show up. This calms Gina down a tad, as Danna is her best friend. They can't help but to sit there crying while Jon and Roger head back up to the poll barn to continue clearing it out. Nate and I start finding things to defend ourselves, we immediately head to the kitchen and grab knifes. Next he grabs the BB gun in our garage and I grab the slingshot with BB's for that too. We give everyone a weapon, Nate brought his metal baseball bat, Cam has the BB gun, Jon has the slingshot, Roger has an axe from the poll barn we found, and Gina, Danna, and myself all have two knives.

When my friends show up I am lucky enough that they brought their own supplies and we put all the food in the kitchen. They throw their personal belongings in my room.

"What was It like out there?" I ask. Brian who appears to be acting normal simply states that we are all dead right now. Jelly who is shaking just looks at me and keeps muttering "so much death." Erick is practically in tears, and Whisper actually is in tears. As it appears that I am the only one sane at the moment, I am also the only one to realize that Justin has yet to arrive. I immediately head outside where I see his van in a pile up at the four way light at the end of the road. I yell in at brain to keep everyone inside and start sprinting down my road. When I arrive the cars are on fire, there's people running around in mass hysteria. Justin and his family are all unconscious. I pull him out and drag him to the door. I then get his little sister, his mom, and his dad. I then go to the next car and in the passenger seat sits my other friend Justin who I call J. He is badly wounded in the head. His mom and brother are also unconscious. I head to his door and try opening it, it appears to be jammed as it won't budge. I hear a car moving very quickly towards me, I look behind me as I see a very large truck headed straight at me. I quickly move. The truck slams into the front of J's car and keeps going. I try to open the door again and is no use. So I pull out my knife and cut his belt off and feed him through the window. I get half way to the tree when his car blows up knocking me to the ground. That sets off a reaction blowing up three other vehicles. I sit there watching as three cars full of people die.

I stand back up and pull J to the tree. Once I get there Justin and his dad are waking up. His dad carries his mom and he carries his little sister. I sling J over my shoulder and we all walk back to my house. Gina treats J's cut on his head, as she is a nurse. The rest of us sit there while I figure out the next thing to do.
