I was standing there, with my sword in hand. Ready to fight this mighty beast. I had been called in to take “it” down and protect the village. No one would dare utter the name of what it was. I guess I would have to find out for my self. With my mighty silver sword and my iron shield, I search the town up down, left and right for this masked beast. Some people say he is bigger than ten black bears combined. They say he has fiery orange piercing eyes and dagger like claws the size of a grown man. Those are just some of the things I have herd. There is much more.

After just mere minutes of searching I come across bright green diamond like scales. They glisten like a crystal in the sun. they are breathtaking. I realize now what “it” is. A dragon. I now know why the villagers are terror struck by the mention of this mighty beast. All these thoughts rushing through my head. Then I realize I am up against the worst enemy possible. I put the diamond like scale in my pouch. I turn to keep searching, when suddenly I see him. The mighty dragon, the king of all beasts standing more then twenty towers tall right in front of me. He had thousands upon thousands of the green scales lining his back down to his feet. The glossy green faded to a golden blonde shimmer of scales on his underside and up onto his head. From his nose all down his crooked back and to his massive tail, he had rocky black spikes. Almost like coal with a sharp point, sharp enough to spear his enemies. The villagers were right, he had talons like daggers that could kill you with one slash. And his eyes, they were a piercing fiery orange, just like they said.

He came at me with his tail trying to spear me and take me down. I wouldn’t have it. I was meant to save this town and I was set on it. As he swung his tail I ran behind a thick stone pillar with jagged rocks pointing out from all areas, hoping it would injure him enough so he would loose focus. “SMASH!” the pillar came down, rocks and dust going everywhere. I hit the ground with a thud. I was just fine, only minor scratches. I got up and brushed my self off, the dragon watching my every move. The sharp rock pillar did not phase him one bit. Well it was time for a different approach. I started running. Faster and faster, hoping the beast would follow. I looked back and saw him start to move. But, he did not run, he flew. He expanded his massive bat like wings. They were of course bigger, much bigger than a bats wings. The length was astounding. One wing was two buildings long. As he started to fly towards me, I began to re think this business. I continued to run, and I found a small cave in the rural part of town small enough for one person to fit. It was perfect. He caught air as I tumbled into the cave. I watched him gracefully fly straight up into the cloudy sky. Not seeing where he went I started to get fearful.

“THUMP!” he landed right in front of the cave entrance peering at me with those piercing eyes. He opened his mouth to reveal his fang like teeth, each one sharper than the rest. The sword like teeth lining the bottom and top row of his mouth, all of them going back to back. The dragon took a huge breath in and I knew what was coming. the fire. He paused for a moment and right then I picked up my iron shield, curled up, and got ready for the danger that was about to come. He roared with incredible force, and out came the blazing magma like fire. Igniting everything in its path he thrashed his head back and forth trying to reach me. But thankfully my shield withstood the scolding temperature of the dragons fire.

Finally, the blazing inferno coming from the dragon had stopped. I peered over my shield to see what was happening. The dragon was just sitting there, waiting for me to emerge from my confined space of a cave. I stopped moving that instant, as I herd the rumble of all the villagers coming to my aid. They had realized I was stuck and I was out of options. With stones and flaming pitchforks in their hands, they ran behind the dragon to catch his attention. Startling the dragon with the stones, he turned around towards them. I knew that was my chance to strike. Pulling my self up off the ground with what little strength I had left in me, I grasped my sword and tightened my shield. Charging at the dragon while he was occupied with the villagers was quite a challenge because he was thrashing about and I could not get a hold to climb on him. Finally I threw my sword into his back and used that as leverage. With every stab in the back I made my way up to his head, being careful not to hit the sharp spikes on his back and he thrashed around. With all the energy I had in me I finally made it to the top of the dragon. In one swift motion I plunged my iron sword into the top of his scale filled head. Shattering the scales as the sword went down, so did the dragon. I jumped off and hit the ground with a thud, my sword still deep in his head. Getting up I dusted my exhausted self off to see the dragon was no more. I had done it. I saved the town from the winged fire breathing beast. As I walked over to retrieve my sword, the villagers cheered and chanted my name. I pulled my sword out of the dragon and went off to celebrate with the villagers.
