Kitomi blames herself for not going with Illumi in the mission since Illumi told Kitomi to stay home and watch Killua, Alluka, and Kalluto, then 5 days past, around night, Silva walked in the house carrying Illumi's bloody body. Illumi told Killua to keep them safe, he told Alluka to stay strong, he told Kalluto he will never be alone...and he told Kitomi while touching her cheek with his right hand that she was the best sister/twin he could ever asked for, after that Illumi smiled warmly as he closed his eyes, his hand fell on the ground as a single tear escaped Illumi's eyes. he was dead
Killua was so shock at his Aniki's sudden death right in front of him. Alluka was in tears. Kalluto tried his best but failed to keep his tears in, Silva was in despair to see his eldest die, Kikyo was also in tears. They were all so sad but the one that felt the greatest pain was Kitomi, she lost her other half, she lost her best friend, she lost her twin brother, for her she also lost a part of her happiness, her heart was shattered. She gripped her brother's cold hands and touched his lifeless cheek, begging for him to wake up, she does not want to admit that he had died right in front of them.
The next day, Illumi was buried in the back yard of the Zoldyck estate, the atmosphere was sad and gloomy, right after Silva had read Illumi's will, they all went in the house. Around almost dawn, Kitomi sneaked at the grave, she looked down at the stone that said "Here lies Illumi Zoldyck, Age: 24. We will love you Illumi, forever". at that moment a tear escaped Kitomi's soulless eye, she collapsed, fell on her knees and gripped her head tight and cried out loud. Tears were leaking like a ready-to-break dam, there was nothing but anguish and pain in her broken heart, she cried and cried, waking up the entire Zoldyck family but they just watched her from the window. after a few hours there was a soft gentle wind that passed by the crying Kitomi, then she felt a hand on her right shoulder, Kitomi paused and lifted her head, her face was drenched in tears.
There stood the spirit of her dead brother, Kitomi could not believe her eyes, Illumi knelled in front of her as he wiped the falling tears away and sealed it with a kiss on her eyes then forehead, he told her to calm down, he will never leave her for she was too precious for him, that's why he told her to stay in the house, he knew that if she would come along, Kitomi will die as well. Illumi can't bear the guilt of his sister''s death just because of that. Kitomi kept on looking at him, the sky started to shine, Illumi leaned and gave her a last tight hug as he whispered three heart-reviving words.
After that he stood, gave a wave and a warm smile as he disappeared into the morning light. The sun was coming up, Kitomi saw her brother vanished into warm rays of light. Kitomi stood up, wiped those bitter tears away as she looked up in the sky, another small tear fell from her eye but her face kept the smile.
He will be back...and she knows it...He's Illumi Zoldyck after all.
The rest of the Zoldyck's smiled at the scene and went back to bed, another soft breeze blew by, Kitomi had her left hand on her head to try to tame her raven hair as her right hand was dangling on her side, she closed her eyes and breathed the morning air.
Kitomi and Illumi are really the same, they really care for each other and would do anything to protect them, that's what they are for...Kitomi opened her eyes and looked at the grave, her smile grew warmer and warmer as she remembered those words...."I love you"
