Teasing

The second period was quiet this time. I mean yeah it's quiet because nobody usually talks during class but I mean the teasing and the name calling and the notes and things like that stopped. I don't know if it was the fact that I still didn't understand what the teacher was saying or the fact that I couldn't hear very well, but I didn't get picked on. This was a change. Not a bad change, but a good change. I was happy that I wasn't being messed with or anything like that. I was happy. For the past week I was miserable but now I am back to being happy. The bell rang and before I got up and grabbed my backpack two kids came up to me. The normal 'cool' kids. The ones that wear their pants like down to their knee's and their hood halfway on their head and their ear piercing and their buzz haircuts.

"Hey uh..we're sorry that you got hit in the head."

Said one of them.

"Yeah, we didn't mean to bump into you making you fall down the stairs.."

Said the other.

"We turned ourselves in and we're getting suspended for a week but we just wanted to say sorry before it was too late."

I looked kinda surprised but then I replied.

"Thank you for telling me that you're sorry."

I stood up and grabbed my backpack, pushed my chair in and walked out of the classroom. On my way to my third period, I saw River. My friend. She was short like me and had hair lighter than mine but still light, like me. She has freckles and green-blue eyes with brown freckles in her eyes. River walked towards me and I walked toward her.

"Hey Tiz!"

River yelled at me.

"Hey River!"

We both hugged.

"How are you?"

River asked taking a step back.

"Ok, I guess. My head doesn't hurt so I guess I'm good."

I also took a step back.

"Wanna hang after school?"

River asked me taking her phone out of her pocket and putting an earbud in her ear.

"Yeah sure. It's Tuesday so I can. It's just Mondays, and Wednesdays I cant."

I told her.

"Oh! Ok then! I'll see you in 6th period?"

River replied.

"Yeah!"

We then split our ways and went to our next period. As third period and intervention went by people kept quiet when they saw me walking down the halls. I guess they still are cautious around me. I don't know. But I met up with my friends at lunch and as soon as I sat down that's when it started.

"Hey look! Its the little coma girl!"

Sophie teased.

"Hardy-har-har."

I said as I sat down.

"So what was it like, you know passing out and being in the hospital and stuff like that?"

Meli asked.

"Well, I've been in the hospital before so its nothing new."

I replied.

"You were like a tiny 6-year-old when you where  pushed."

Taylor laughed.

"All small compared to the taller 8th graders."

The group except Irene laughed. I looked down and then I got up and walked off.

"Watch out for the tall ass 8th graders!"

Meli yelled.

"Yeah! Don't forget to look up!"

They all laughed except Irene. I walked around everyone as I walked away and started to tear up...I can't believe my friends were treating me like this. This wasn't cool of them. I had no clue what had gotten into them, I mean yeah I know I am the smallest out of the group but they didn't have go and say that stuff...maybe they started the note thing...I don't know...
