Olivia was walking, she didn't know where she was going or why, but she had to go. She walked out of the courthouse with everyone trailing behind her. She didn't notice she had stepped into the street, she didn't see or hear the car coming...
Elliott walked quickly, his mind filling with the possibilities of how his conversation with Liv might go, the idea of seeing her again put butterflies in his stomach. All of his feelings for her coming back in one huge punch to his gut. He looked up, and saw that she was in front of him on the corner, she wasn't paying attention, he began to run when he saw the car coming...
"Liv look out!" He yelled as he grabbed her hand and pulled her to the side walk, but they both tripped on the curb and fell. She landed on top of him as everyone else began to run to make sure they were ok. Elliott could hear their pulses pounding as one as they both fought to catch their breath. She looked down at him and everything stopped...
"El?" She asked, still trying to catch her breath, although it was useless now. She couldn't believe it, how long had it been since she'd seen him? How many times had she wondered what it would be like to see him again? She got off of him and he got up. El offered his hand which she greatly took, he pulled her to her feet and they just... Stared at each other, if anyone had said something to them, they didn't catch it.
"What... I don't understand... How did you... " Olivia started to say, but stopped, he pulled her into his arms and she hugged him intensely. She allowed herself to be wrapped in the safe comfort of his arms, that felt so familiar. She always felt that no matter what was happening anywhere else, Olivia was always safe in Elliott arms, and who was she kidding, she needed it now more then ever.
They stood their for a while, then she pulled away to look at him. He took a deep breathe and smiled at her, then said, "hi." He laughed, and so did she. He looked at everyone else and said, "you know what, I got her. Why don't you guys head back to the prescient while I take Liv to go get something to eat, I'll bring her back, promise." He winked at her when he promised. She smiled. He took her hand and they walked down the street.
They walked along the sidewalk for a while. Not saying anything. What was their to say? They should have probably talked about everything that happened between them. And what was going on now. But what was the point? They were together now, and that's
what mattered most.
They walked along until they hit their all time favorite diner. They went inside and sat at a table in the back, next to the window facing an amazing garden. It was breathe taking. The waiter came and they ordered, a salad for Olivia, sandwich for Elliott, just like old times. Elliott said, "You know? It's like nothing ever happened, just like old times huh?" He asked as the waiter brought their order out. Olivia laughed, they ate making their routine conversation. Talking about the job, Elliott's kids, all the changes that have happened since his resignation. their were so many stories to tell. They finished, and much to Olivia's dismay, Elliott paid. They left the diner and got into his car that was parked back by the courthouse. They drove to the Precinct and went in, they were both very hesitant at first, he was scared to think what it would be like to see the old place, she was terrified by everything that was going on. They both stopped in their tracks at the door. "Liv wait," he said, grabbing her hand. She looked at him. "I don't know if I can do this, it's been so long and..." His voice trailed off. He looked down. She went to him and tipped his head so he had to look at her. "I know your scared," she said looking up at him. "I'm scared to, I haven't really walked into this place since this whole thing with Louis started, but it's gonna be ok, right?" She asked, looking into his eyes, almost pleading with him. Elliott could tell just how scared his partner was, "your right," he said his confidence slowly building, this wasn't really about him anyway, he wanted nothing more then to protect Olivia from everything. So he took a breathe, placed her hand in his, and slowly lead her to the office.
