Andromeda's POV:

"Calm yourself im here you can deal with the pain little one" confusion swept through me as i replied to the voice "who are you?"

"We don't have time for introductions i can feel the danger getting closer, accept the pain don't fight it, we must hurry!" for some reason the voice soothed me i cracked my eyes open to see Ellen hovering over me.

"I..it hurts" was all i managed to croak out as a snap filled my ears more pain exploded from my arm causing Ellen to gasp and back away.

"Give her room!" she shouted out as Kareem a pack teacher looked at me her eyes wide.

"Oh goddess she is shifting Ellen! How she is ten??" Ellen shook her head as more pain filled me i grunted out trying to keep in my screams so we wouldn't be found.

"Alpha Fred has passed we all felt it, her wolf must be staking its claim as rightful heir, she feels the danger and is doing what she must to protect us, like any Alpha would" Ellen looked at something to the side of her as two men came rushing down the tunnel eyes wide when they hear another crack and my back arched off the floor as it snapped molding itself into a different form.

I recognized the males as pack warriors they started talking to Ellen but i couldn't hear anymore, i could only see the sobbing faces of maia and max at the watched me, it felt like years before needles pricked through my skin, i closed my eyes and finally let out a scream when i felt the last of my bones break and mold themselves into a different form my eyes closed as i layed there gasping for air the pain finally receding.

"A..andi are you okay?" Maias voice filled my ears as i felt two hands on my side.

I opened my eyes met with the two identical tear stained faces of my friends, i tried to speak but instead a small whine came out.

I looked down at myself midnight colored fur coated my body, i blinked a few times before trying to stand, my legs wobbled a bit "good little one, get ready they are almost here" i let out a huff "who are they?" i felt her press one feeling through the bond, danger.

I growled lowly causing Maia and Max to back away, i walked in front of my pack growling down the tunnel where the hatch was located.

Ellen gasped in realization "shift back Andi, think of yourself in human form hurry!" i looked back at her as she pushed the others further down the tunnels, some woman cried as they told their kids to be ready to run, in that moment i understood, i thought of myself as human.

My ten year old frame and pitch black hair my crystal blue eyes and ivory skin, a grunt came from my mouth as i shifted once again Ellen had pulled her shirt off sliding it over my head not caring about how she was just in her bra "all of you need to run, you can feel them coming closer we will hold the-" she was cut off by loud snarls, the tapping of claws filled the tunnel as a group of wolves glared at us.

The females and two warriors jumped in front of us blocking our view, Ellen handed me Ellie and nodded at me, hugging Maia and Max one last time she pushed us down the tunnel, i heard the clashing of bodies as we ran, looking around i noted that the older kids had grabbed the younger ones who couldn't run as fast, others held hands as we ran, finally i could smell the forest ahead we were almost at the forest edge!

We broke into the trees it was still dark out, my feet pounded against the ground as i ran everyone instinctively following behind me.

I heard the growls again, they were gaining on us, after all its not like kids could out run fully grown wolves, i had to think of something!

Warren one of the few of us who were fifteen came up next to me as we ran opening the mind link "little Alpha me Tilly and Mike will distract them, please make sure william lives!" with those words
The three broke away i slowed and latched onto williams arm as he cried out for his brother "we have to go they are giving us a chance!" williams eyes filled with more tears but he kept running, we all did even when we heard the yelling of the older teens we didn't stop most of us were now huffing my chest was hurting as i kept Ellie close i could feel the boundary line for our border was close.

That's when we heard it the snarl through the mind like, it was one that was completely open, uncle Darren had torn our weak mental blocks down long enough for us to hear them, hear all of them our pack as they cried out in hope "run children do-" "we love yo-" "survive!" "protect each oth-" "lead little Alpha, protect and never give up!" where the last words we heard through the link as it was finally broken, our feet no longer hit pack land but we didn't stop we kept going.
