Andromeda's POV:

The sun peeked out above the trees when i finally slowed down, the smell of water and fish filled my nose as i looked through the trees finding a small lake letting out a sigh of relief, "come on everyone there is a lake, we can rest" a few of the kids let out a sigh of happiness.

"Thank goddess we need the rest" Max said in a tired voice, Maia followed behind him as they both sat at the edge of the lake leaning into each other.

Ellie let out a gurgling sound as i sat by the water placing her in my lap, cupping my hands i scooped up the surprisingly clear cold water drinking as much as i could hold in my palms.

The water soothed my dry cracked throat, not wasting anymore time i put my pointer finger over Ellie's mouth causing a few drops of water to run into her mouth "im sorry we don't have milk or a bottle for you right now" i dipped my finger back into the water then held it back over her mouth.

I looked up finally taking the time to see who had made it, Max and Maia were still sitting huddled together both were the same age as me our moms had been pregnant at the same time, we grew close as we got older them being uncle Darren's kids meant we did everything together, they were my best friends.

William sat staring at the water he was fourteen probably the oldest here, next to him was charlie who was six.

Next was thirteen year old Brie who sat with penelope and pete who were both five and her baby cousins.

Then just to the right of me everyone else sat in a large group staying close to me out of instinct was, nine year old luis, carrie, violet and tommy who were all eight, ray was seven, while kelly a two year old had fallen asleep in her brother Jason's lap he was just five, finally there was Ash who was four, that seemed to be everyone seventeen of us in total.

"What do we do now?" william asked softly.

Everyone looked at me "we need to rest drink some water, we don't know how to cook fish on a fire and i don't want anyone getting sick, we will have to find food some other way" they all nodded starting to talk amongst themselves.

William walked over to me and sat down "you should get some sleep you've just shifted then we ran like that, i can watch Ellie for an hour or so" i looked over at him with a small smile.

"Thank you william" he took Ellie cradling her as charlie and Maia came over curling up next to me, max spoke up again "i will watch with William everyone else sleep if you can" i nodded a thanks then layed down, the grass tickled my face as i let out a yawn my eyes closing as i fell into peace.

I felt my shoulder being shaken harshly causing my eyes to snap open, Max was standing above me a worried look in his eyes as he whispered "they found us"

I sat up causing charlie and Maia to jerk awake "wake everyone up now!" without hesitation Max shook the others awake some mumbling until they hear max say we had been found.

William broke from the tree line still holding Ellie he handed her to Brie, "they are close no time to run anywhere i think we are surrounded" his voice was horse as he spoke basically telling us we were doomed.

Growling in anger i kicked a nearby rock into the lake "shit its my fault we should of kept moving, how many are there??"

William shook his head "There are seven, its not your fault Alpha if we didn't stop we could of passed out or worse from exhaustion"

"Ok well me Max, Maia, and William we are the only ones who can fight right?" i asked out loud, a few mumbled yes ashamed they didn't know how to fight, but it wasn't there fault most kids are not trained in our pack until they reach thirteen.

"Okay everyone put your back to the lake and stay behind the four of us" everyone shuffled into positions as the first wolf stepped out from the trees he was a mix of grey and blonde, next to him a tall man who had on only shorts with blonde hair and tan skin spoke up.

"Well well well what do we have here, a bunch of children acting tough?" the tall man laughed at his own words as if they were actually funny.

I glared at him "leave us alone and i wont kill you!" i took a protective stance my glare turning to every wolf as they stepped through the trees, each snarling and growling like beasts.

The man smirked "Ha little girl you really think you can do anything to any of us, that alpha of yours couldn't so how could your pathetic ass even try"

I let out a growl rage consumed me tainting my vision red at the mention of my father, before i could think about it i had lunged shifting mid air as i tackled the man, my claws ripped apart his chest slicing like he was made out of butter, he didn't even manage to scream in surprise as i sunk my teeth into his neck crimson liquid coating my snout as i tugged hard, stumbling back a little as i used to much force, the chunk of neck landing in the grass as i spit it out, the man let out one last gurgle as blood sprayed in a steady stream from his throat, he was dead.

Stepping back i looked at the wolves who were in shock staring at the dead guy for a moment, then the blonde and grey wolf snarled pouncing on top of me and pinning me with his heavy frame, i growled scratching at his stomach with my claws but it seemed to do nothing, he swiped his claws across my cheek digging in deeper as his paw reached my shoulder, taking the chance i bit into his leg bones crushing in my jaws causing him to howl in pain, i released his leg as he tried to bite my neck.

From the corner of my eye i could see the rest of the wolfs creeping closer to everyone, taking his moment of my distraction to his advantage i looked back up in time to see his teeth aiming for my throat, all i could think was that i fucked up, this was it and i couldn't protect them like an Alpha should...

Suddenly a loud bang pierced the air causing the wolf above me to go limp and fall over dead, more shots filled the air followed by the wolfs dropping to the ground all with blood pooling from their heads.
