My heart pounded against my chest, my ember coloured eyes hidden beneath my tense eye lids.

He was coming.

I could hear faint noises in the distance. My long dark hair ruffled by the gentle breeze.

I opened my eyes, my pupils enlarging as they adjusted to the darkness of the night.

It was too silent. I couldn't even hear the breath coming out of my mouth, I could only see the cold mist escaping from it.

The silence broke.

"Why are you here." I asked. My words as blunt as the back of a knife.

The beast looked at me. It's ebony eyes narrowed at me.

He smiled, a tingling feeling creeping up my spine.

"Why, silly little girl. I'm here to kill you."
