Chapter 5
Isabella
I suddenly wake up to the sound of an awful rap song blasting out of my radio, I groan and quickly fumble with the dial to try and change the station. I somehow manage to drag myself out of bed and into the shower, nothing like a good shower to wake you up in the morning. Half an hour later and I’m walking towards the bus stop where I can see Erin waiting for me.
“Hey Isabella, how are you?” She greets me with a smile.
“I’m good, thanks. How are you?” I reply as the bus pulls up.
“I’m also good, thanks” she replies as we get on the bus which will take us to college. We sit down towards the middle of the bus; able to pretty much choose where we sit as there are only a few people already on the bus. “So” Erin says “have you done the History essay?” she asks me.
“Eugh, yeah and I don’t think I can write, ever again.” I complain.
“I know and I can bet that I haven’t written anywhere near as much as you have.” She laughs at me as Joe and Sophie also get on the bus and come to join us.
“Are you talking about the History essay?” Joe asks us “it was horrible it took me two whole hours!” He exclaims.
“You spent two hours on school work? Wow Joe, I’m impressed.” I say, genuinely surprised as Joe hardly ever spends over an hour on any homework.
“I know but I really need to get my grades up, and I actually like History.” He replies pleased that we have noted his increased effort and pleased with himself.
“So go on Isabella, how much did you write?” He asks me teasingly as I have a habit of over-writing, especially in essays, and even more so in History.
“Erm… sixteen sides” I mumble, knowing that this is pretty much a record for me and they will not let me forget it.
“Sixteen?” They all exclaim, plus Adam, Jade and Rosie who have just sat down behind us. Well at least that means we’re nearly at college now.
“Well, you’ve definitely excelled yourself Isabella” Adam says whilst laughing at me.
“I am so glad I took Geography, we don’t do essays” Sophie says, as the only one who took Geography.
“Why how much did you guys write?” I ask, wondering how they managed to finish the essay having written so little.
“I wrote eleven sides” Erin replies and that will be the closest to my total.
“I wrote nine sides” Rosie chips in.
“I did eight” Adam grumbles, clearly unhappy with the amount of work he had to do this weekend.
“I did nine as well” Jade replies.
“Oh, maybe I did do a bit too much” I giggle along with everyone else.
“Anyway, forget about work” Rosie says whilst turning to Erin and I. “We need a girly night out, tonight.”
“Ooh, where are we going?” Erin asks, immediately lighting up at the sound of going out.
“Well, I was thinking we could go to Tiger Tiger and then Revolution?”
“Oh, are we going out tonight?” Jamie asks us as he comes to sit with us, joined by Sam and Mark
“You’re not, us girls are” Rosie corrects him.
“What? You’re all going out and we’re not allowed to come” Joe complains joined with agreements form the other guys.
