Supergirl and Batgirl: More than just super friends

Chapter 1

Barbara stood before the glass cabinets in the bat cave that held the teams suits. She was only able to stand there do to the bio implant 'Waynetech' developed, and Bruce asked for her to be one of the first recipients.
As she contemplated whether she would put it on her Batgirl suit once more. But before she could make a decision she noticed Alfred walking down the stairs. "Ms. Gordon I would of thought you be at home resting given your ability to walk once more." He said.
"I'm fine Alfred just wondering when I'll put it on again." She said hoping that answer would suffice Alfred's curiosity. He raised an eyebrow at her not believing her for one second "Ms. Gordon I implore you to accompany me upstairs where I shall make an ice soup." He said stepping aside for her to go in front of him.
"Thank you Alfred really it's just, I just need some time. You go on ahead I'll be up in a minute." She said with smile that she knew always worked to make her look innocent. He nodded and began to walk back up the steps while she faced her suit again but this time got a very bad idea.

Alfred walked down into the cave with a steaming bowl of soup looking to find Ms.Gordon. But all he found was a hastily written letter pinned to spot where her suit once stood. As he placed the soup down on a nearby table he grabbed the note and read it aloud.
"Dear, Alfred I'm sorry for the lie but I had to get back on the horse or in my case the bat cycle. So I hope you understand that this is something I had to do. P.s don't tell Bruce." He read and laid the note down next to the bowl and looked around the cave running a hand through his thinning hair. He then said the only thing he could think to say "Bloody hell."

Barbara screamed with joy as she rocketed down the street on the bat cycle enjoying the wind blowing through her hair. She didn't even realize that being back would feel this good. As she served between cars the sky lit up.
She came to stop nearby and noticed the light was the bat signal and she smiled. 'Perfect timing dad.' She thought before driving off towards the GCPD headquarters. She was finally gonna get to officially get back out there.
As she made it to the GCPD she pulled in to the nearby alley and pulled out her grappling gun before firing it onto the roof. As she was pulled up onto it she did a roll and hopped up being met with her fathers back. "Damm that was fast even for you." He said turning around and looked surprised to the bat he wasn't expecting.
"Hi." She said breaking him out of his daze "Sorry it's just I haven't seen you in a while." He said moving to spotlight and turning the signal off. "I got hurt a while back took me this long to heal and decide to come back." She half lied hoping he would believe her.
"Well this should be a cake walk." He said handing her a file. "A new version of venom it makes you half as strong as Bane but with so many people with that much strength." He said trailing off. "If that many people have even half his strength thaw damage could be exponential." She said.
"And it's could be hard to stop 'em when the drug makes bullets roll off their backs." He said and I nodded looking through the file. "Is that all." She said holding the file at her side. "No, we have intel that there's gonna be buy going down." He said
He then handed her a piece of paper with a location "You up for this?" He asked "Protecting this city, always." She said with smile before jumping off the edge of the roof back to where she left her bike.
She put the location into the GPS an sped off hoping that she could get there in time before the buy went down. As she made it to the location she pulled out her grappling gun before being pulled up to the roof. She pulled out binoculars and an energy bar for well, energy.
Surveying the area she noticed a dumpster and noted it for a good cover if needed. She waited and waited before thinking she should call it a night until a man in a trench coat and fedora coming down the alley. Her attention was then drawn to another man coming out of the shadow of the dumpster and she nearly literally kicked herself for not noticing him.
She put the binoculars away in exchange for a batarang and she waited as the two talked. The one in the trench coat pulled out box with multiple vials of green liquid which she could only assume was venom. The other pulled out a large stack of money but Barbara through the batarang imbedding it in his hand.
She jumped down before the two could even register what was happening she then punched the buyer in the face knocking him out. She then closed the case, planted a mini explosive on it and then threw it up where it exploded.
"Ah, the Batgirl is back and you are interfering." The man said. Barbara recognized the thick accented voice but she couldn't place where. He grabbed his hand and she became confused until he moved it and she saw the dial on his glove.
He then grew three times his size tearing his coat apart and Barbara backed away when she looked into the eyes of Bane. "Hey Bane, what happened I thought you were the boss not some low lever dealer." Barbara mocked. "I just do not trust my men with such a powerful drug for free." He said "Well this is awkward cause they're gonna have full access to it when I take you to jail." She said before throwing an explosive batarang at Bane.
     He caught in the air letting it explode in his hand not even flinching she then ran at him with two batarang slicing his cafes. He grunted in pain but didn't stop as he grabbed the dumpster threw it at her but she quickly grappled out of the way and landed on top of him.
      She pulled another batarang and sliced clean through the tube holding his venom and he screamed in anger. She jumped off of him but not fast enough to avoid receiving one final punch from Bane launching her down the alley. As her vision began to go black the last thing she saw was the figure of bat landing on the ground.

      'I should have known this would happen.' Bruce thought as he walked towards Barbara's unconscious form. He picked her up bridal style and stood there looking at her. "I'm sorry." Jim said making Bruce turn around. "It's not your fault Jim you couldn't have ever predicted this would happen." He said
      "Yeah but I gave her the file even though she just put the mask back on." He said as Bruce walked towards the bat mobile. "Is she gonna be okay?" Jim asked "She's tough." He said before putting her in the passenger seat and hoping in the drivers side.
      "I'll see you tomorrow Commissioner Gordon." Bruce said "You do realize that something bad has to happen first for me to call you right." Jim said with a smile. Bruce nodded before driving off towards the bat cave. "Alfred get the medical equipment ready." Bruce said as the bat mobile roared down the road.
      "Oh dear is Ms.Gordon okay." He asked sounding worried "She's hurt Alfred but alive." Bruce replied "I'm pulling up to the entrance now." He said "Alright sir." Alfred said.
      As he pulled in and got Barbara out of the car he walked over and placed her on the medical table. She was then bathed in red light as she was scanned for a diagnosis. "Hmm surprisingly she isn't as hurt as I would have expected taking a hit from Bane." Bruce said going through list of injuries.
      "What is the diagnosis master Bruce." Alfred asked "Sprained wrist three broken ribs and a slight concussion." He read off. "Good." Alfred said before moving to remove her suit. "I will go inform the Commissioner that she fell asleep talking to Tim." Bruce said before exiting the cave.

      Barbara awoke with a splitting headache and as she tried to sit up she immediately regretted it. She rolled out of bed and stood up straight soaking in the morning light. "Ms. Gordon how are you feeling." Alfred asked as he walked into the room with water and medicine.
     "Like I got hit with a dump truck." She said grabbing the medicine off the tray "Well that is what one would expect when getting punched by Bane." Alfred said. Barbara downed the medicine and then looked down at the floor.
      "I'm sorry Alfred, I should have listened and stayed here." Barbara said not meeting the older mans gaze. "It is okay Ms.Gordon, I nor master Bruce blame you for your course of action." Alfred said and Barbara was filled with surprise. "Is Bruce around?" She asked. "I believe he is still in the cave." Alfred said before moving aside so she could pass him to the door.
As she walked out she gave Alfred one last smile before walking down the stairs. She was about to open up the clock entrance to the cave but it opened before she could reach it and Bruce stepped out wearing his day clothes. "How are you feeling?" He asked "That depends on what you mean." She replied.
"Physically." He said before he began walking motioning for Barbara to follow "Like you would expect when getting hit by Bane." She said. "And as for the other type of feelings I'm ashamed that I went out in the first place." She continued. "I understand that but I would have done the same thing." Bruce said "Yeah but you wouldn't have let Bane kick your ass." She pointed out.
"You didn't let Bane do anything his venom has been upgraded not even I knew till recently and I'm sorry you weren't informed." Bruce said stopping to place a hand on the red head's shoulder.
"Yeah but still Gotham seems to have changed since I became Oracle." Barbara said "You're right and that's why I told your father you were thinking about taking a trip. And he agreed." He said. "Really?" Barbara asked "Yes and doing this will allow you to start slow or maybe think if being Batgirl is best for you." He said. She was shocked that he she might need to give it up "I'm not saying you can't do it anymore just for you to start slow." He said.
She nodded and so did he before leaving her alone with her thoughts. She walked into the living room and turned on the news while barley paying attention. 'Starling city, Central city none of those will work.' She thought but then something on the news caught her eye.
The news was showing an image of woman standing on the wing of plane with a '#supergirl' on the bottom left corner. Apparently her saving the plane led people to believe she was somehow related to the big blue boy-scout him self hence the name. Of course meeting Superman when he once came to Gotham and learning Clark had a cousin this woman was of course Kara-Zor el. 'Well no harm in showing this rookie the ropes.' Barbara thought before pulling out her phone to tell her father she was going to National city.
