Fossegrim crouched around the outskirts of the forest near the location where Paige's vehicle was found. He cautiously ducked behind a thicket whenever an investigator approached the forest or shifted their gaze over at it. He observed the morticians zip up and lifted black bags that contained bodies of the people Paige fought off. He remained low to the ground and crept closer to the group of officials. He also saw a woman presenting a plaster cast of a woman's heels to a man that he guessed was the main leader.

Paige.

He kept watching until he heard something coming up from behind him he was about to turn around until someone got on top of him and a hand covered his mouth. He tensed and froze in surprise. He made a muffled growl hoping it would cause the attacker to hesitate and loosen their grip so he could get away. The person sighed.

"Cut it out it's me, Huldra, come with me,"

Her hand left his mouth and he turned his head around in gave her a confused look. She put a finger to her lips and stood back up in a semi crouched position. She waved 'come here'. He decided to follow her and leave the investigators behind and continued on his way to where Huldra was going crawling on his hands and knees. When they were out of view range but could still see the scene in the distance Fossegrim stood up and walked over to his former fiancée who was sitting on a fallen birch tree log. He stood in front of her as she roam-aged through her bag. "Oh yeah ." She lifted up the back of her shirt and produced something wrapped up in her hand and held it out to him. He looked at her hand and his right hand hovered over it, he looked at her in the eyes and they were full of concern. He picked up the wrapped object and uncovered it, Paige's necklace. His eyes widened in shock. They did have her.

"Where did you find this. Where!" Hands trembling in anger.

Huldra stood up. "I found it near a building in Hässleholm."

He gave her a weird look.

"I sometimes take vigilante action and help officers if there's women or children involved. I was near the crime scene and I found your scent on the necklace. I want to help you."

He considered this for a moment.

"So, where do we start?"

"Well, during my observation across the street from the crime scene there was a survivor, we can travel to the hospital she's at and ask her what all went down."

"Sounds good. Let's go."

Huldra got up and started walking back to town with Fossegrim trailing behind her.

Now standing in front of Hässleholm Hospital the two looked at each other and walked inside.

They walked over to the secretaries inside of their little room. Fossegrim looked around uneasily as Huldra knocked on the plexiglass window. A woman in a pink scrub got off of a phone and stood up to talk. Fossegrim realized she was carrying recent patient records and watched with interest as the nurse sat them down near the window.

"Can I help you two?"

"As a matter of fact yes, earlier today a woman was brought in, she was a victim of a shooting, we came to see her."

"Are you friends or family?"

"Friends we're here to ask questions instead of the police. You see, our friend is terrified of cops and I convinced them that it would be best that we came and talked to her instead." Huldra ended with a smile.

"I'm sorry but I can't allow you in until you show me something that proves you're her for official business and besides she's to unstable to have people in the room." And with that the woman walked away from the window and sat back down facing away from them.

Fossegrim stood closer to the window and looked around making sure no one was watching and stuck his hand into the speaking hole and carefully pulled the paper out of their folder.

He and Huldra quickly walked over to a waiting area. He looked through the papers until he saw the one of the shooting victim.

"Bingo."

He handed the paper to Huldra who immediately began scanning over it.

"That has to be her," He said.

They quickly got back up and stuffed the papers in a cubby hole by the secretary door.

Room 25 B. ICU.

Huldra looked through the large observation window and saw the shot woman laying on a hospital bed with her eyes closed. It always pained her when a woman or girl was injured in any way. She saw females as her children and always did whatever she could to help them throughout all the centuries she lived. She could feel Fossegrim's hands rest on either side of her shoulders and she turned her head around to look into his caring faded green eyes shrouded by black hair. He could always pick up on how others felt. She put a hand on his and nodded in affirmation that she was ready to go in. Before they went inside she scanned the hall and secretary cubicles when no one seemed to be watching they slipped inside.

(Skip because I'm to lazy to write more dialogue)

The woman told them that after she was shot she could hear the two people start talking to each other about a building in the Northern Woods of Sweden on an island; which was odd to her because there's not an island over that way.

Fossegrim walked out of the hospital and sat down trying not to panic. His mind kept racing, the voices started screaming in his head.

'Will you see her alive again?'
'What if you two can't get there in time?'
'Will something happen to you?'

"Shut up," he said in his mind. The voices became loud enough that he started violently shaking his head from side to side as Huldra watched with concern.

'He's still screwed up in the head I see,'

When he finally stopped he had a headache and was dizzy. He could hear Huldra's heels tap against the pavement towards the bench he was sitting at.

"We'll find her dove, don't worry I have a car and money to get there."

When he still didn't say anything she moved his face to look at her.

"We...will...find her, okay, look at me."

He finally met her eyes and she could see he was holding back tears of sadness and frustration.

He leaned into her chest and she hugged him gently as her started to cry hard. She remembered doing this all the times he would get upset with one of the gods or other creatures of The Norse. He would get made fun of because he wasn't 'manly enough' and was sensitive and very emotional when it came to certain things.
She focused back in on the present and pulled Fossegrim away from her chest as he looked at her she wiped his eyes and cheeks.

"Let's get started,"

He slowly nodded at her words.
