Prologue:
I ran down the street, a smile placed upon my lips as Isaac chased me. I giggled as I sped up.
"Slow down, Isaac! I'm not as young as I used to be!", I said with a toothy smile as he laughed.
"You're nine, Marina. Not a hundred!", he smirked, before speeding up beside me. I gaped. How did he even get up to where I was, let alone the speed I was going in?! I skid to a stop, tripping and about to ram my face into a pile of bricks. I let out a short squeal and closed my eyes, ready for death and the impaling impact.
Except for my very certaint death, I feel arms wrap around me and tackle me into the haypile.
I crawled out of the hay, feeling all sharp points poking me as I did so. I hear a barely audible "ow" as someone did the same.
"Thanks for saving me, Isa-," I stop once I realize the person who saved me was not Isaac, but a boy I've seen around school quite a bit, but never talked to. I mean, he is in 2 grades above me.
"Thanks?", I said in a soft voice. He just stared at me in content, before turning and looking at Isaac, who was standing straight and not making eye contact with anyone. "Bubba?", I asked, sweetly.
He may not be my brother, but he acts like it. He's been there for me, since forever.
His head shot up and his eyes met mine. They were full of fear and strictness. "Are you okay, Marina?", he questioned in fear. Why is he scared? There's nothing to be afraid of.
"I'm okay, he saved me.", I said and his eyes widened as he looked at the boy. He walked up to the boy and as he looked at him, he began whispering. Uh?
"Alph- I mean, Jasper says that he saw you falling and got to you before I noticed.", Isaac frowned.
"Thanks, Jasper. It was sweet of you.", I blushed as did he. "And you deserve a reward for being a hero", I said in a fancy voice, before kissing his cheek.
This action made him blush furiously and gape, as did Isaac. I smiled, before grabbing Isaac's hand and trying to drag him. Keyword: TRYING.
"C'mon! Momma told me to be back by 5! It's 4:51!", I growled. He just chuckled before bowing and waving bye to Jasper. He simply smiled and as I turned away, I wanted to look back at him, so, I did. He was jumping in the air, like a bunny, and doing a happy dance. I smiled and sped up as he turned around and paused his dancing and began blushing.
