I snuck into the house at 9:28 p.m, and rushed to my room quietly hoping no one would hear me. I ran up the stairs, and walked into my room silently. I then opened the door ,and jumped back startled by the sight. My mom. "WHERE WERE YOU!? IT'S VERY LATE, AND YOU-" my mom yelled as she got up close to me. She hovered over me, and I sunk down, and stepped back.

"I-I-I was um, out with Wren, and Sophie." I replied back nervously. She slapped me across the face as hard as she could, then smiled. I frowned, touched my cheek, and turned around to look in the mirror only to see a red handprint on my cheek. I saw my little sister in the corner of the room peeking from under her blankets, shaking. "GIVE ME YOUR PHONE." My mom yelled as she grabbed my bag.

She ripped it open, and violently threw my papers, and art supplies all over my room, until she found my phone at the bottom of my bag. "WE'RE YOU TRYING TO HIDE THIS FROM ME!?" She asked loudly. "No." I lied straight through my teeth. "Don't lie to me." She said as she slapped me across the face so hard I fell over. She kicked me, then walked out of my room, as I started crying.

My little sister came out from under her covers. "Are you okay?" She asked sweetly. "No, I'm not." I said as I walked over to my computer, and sat down in my bean bag. "What are you doing?" She asked nervously. "Messaging Sophie, and Wren." I said back comfortably, and wiped my tears. "NO PLEASE I DONT WANT YOU TO GET HURT AGAIN, PLEASE PUT IT AWAY." She whimpered as she got off her bed, and shook my hand.

I hugged her, and looked at her straight her brown eyes. She looked horrified. "Jenna, I- Okay." I said sadly. "Thank you." She said back as she plopped on the ground. "GO TO SLEEP OR I'LL SMACK YOU BOTH SO HARD YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO FEEL THE TEARS STREAMING DOWN YOUR FACE, OR SEE THE BLOOD ON THE CARPET!" Mom threatened.

Me, and Jenna quickly jumped into bed, and fell asleep. I woke up to hear Jenna's screams. I looked at my alarm clock. 5 a.m. I followed the screams all the way to the kitchen, and saw Jenna in the corner of the room with her head turned, and trying to use her hands to cover her. I then saw mom lashing out on her with a kitchen knife. "KAMMY, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING UP SO EARLY?!" She yelled, still clutching the knife.

I stepped back, and used my hands to shield me, as I saw her coming to me. She then did the unthinkable. I didn't think she would go so far. I fell to the ground, as she had made a huge gash on my cheek. She covered her mouth with her hands, and ran over to me, as I hit the ground. "Are you okay? I meant to slap you not stab you!" She said as she tried to touch my cheek. I screamed ,and kicked her back as tears streamed down Jenna's face.

She ran over to mom, and pushed her onto the floor. Mom got up, and walked fastly towards Jenna, knife in hand. I screamed loudly, and got up slowly, running towards mom. With all my power, I pushed mom over Jenna lunging her into the wall. The force was so strong, I fell backwards with a sharp pain towards my butt. Jenna ducked as mom lunged into the wall head first.

She fell into the lamp, and the lamp came crashing down next to Jenna. Then the light turned off. Me, and Jenna scrambled upstairs, and grabbed our bags, filled with our most important stuff. We heard mom cursing, and running up the stairs. I jumped out the window, with my bag, and purposely landed on my left arm. Jenna then jumped down, and I caught her in my arms. She had her Dora bag, I had bought her for her birthday.

I ran to the nearest stoplight, and waited for a car to pass by. I kept waving with Jenna next to me, until a car came. Thank goodness it was a woman. "Are you kids okay?" She asked worried. "No, can we please come with you-" I stopped hearing a loud thud. We ran into the car. "Please help us." Jenna sobbed. She drove off to a neighborhood I had not recognized.

She pulled into a beautiful drive way, with chalk on the sidewalks painted to be a hopscotch area. She grabbed our bags, and pulled us into the house. She locked the door behind us, and looked at us. "Hi mom!" I heard three kids yell. Two boys, and one girl. They all had light blue eyes. The two boys had blonde hair, and and the girl did too. One of the boys was wearing glasses, and had short hair, and the other, had short hair but no glasses.
