After the gods collectively made the Earth each began to find their purpose; one was in control of the sun, one controlled the moon, so on and so forth. Some gods found their purpose right away while others had to wait and figure out their duty. Such is the case for the twin sisters Voda and Lume. Voda and Lume lived with the gods atop a hill, looking down at the lush green plains. The sisters both had white hair that rested on their shoulders, gray eyes, and were the same height. Even though Voda and Lume were a bit younger compared to the rest of the gods they were taller than the other goddesses reaching six feet. The sisters had drastically different personalities, when the gods confused Lume for Voda Lume would yell at them and give them an earful; on the other hand, when Voda was confused for Lume she would politely correct them. Voda and Lume tried to physically distinguish themselves from each other through their clothing. Voda wore a light blue dress that dragged on the floor, when she walked it was though part of the sky trailed behind her. Voda on the other hand wore a red orange dress as beautiful as the sunrise, her dress stopped after her knees. Even though they wore different clothes, the other gods constantly confused the twins, it didn't help that neither of them had a power.

One day Lume had enough and left the hill. It did not take long for Voda to notice her sister's absence and she set out to find her. Voda found Lume near the rose field. Lume was pacing and talking to herself, she did not notice Voda at all. Voda asked her sister what was wrong, Lume replied with how sick she was that everyone confused them, how she was tired of being the goddess of nothing. Voda tried to calm her sister down to no avail, instead she angered her sister more. Smoke began to rise from under Lume's feet, soon the grass under Lume caught fire. Voda stared in astonishment, she had never seen this before. The flames quickly began to spread, setting the field of roses ablaze. Voda tried to pull her sister away from the flames, but when she got too close to the flames they burned her, it was a pain she had never felt before. Lume smiled at what she had created, and began to follow the flames that were traveling away from home.

Voda didn't know what to do, so she ran back to the other gods. The other gods already knew, they could see the smoke and ash from the hilltop. The other gods were enraged at what Lume had done, and planned to hunt her down. Voda begged them not to, but the other gods would not have it. Lume was destroying the planet they worked so hard to create. It felt to Voda as if someone had stabbed her heart. They were going to kill her sister, the sister she loved with all her being. Voda began to cry, she continued to cry for days as Lume continued to burn the earth and as the other gods plotted her sisters murder. Voda's tears streamed down the hill creating rivers and lakes eventually flooding the earth and putting out Lume's fires. The only place not affected by the flooding was the hill where the gods lived. The other gods were impressed by what Voda had accomplished.

Shortly after the flooding Lume returned to the hill only to have no one recognize her. Lume's once white hair, now gray because of the smoke from the fires, her once colorful dress now black from the ashes. Voda on the other hand recognized her right away, for her and Lume were the only one with gray eyes. Once Voda told the other gods who Lume was their anger was rekindled. Voda reasoned with the other gods to not punish her sister, that it was not her fault that her gift caused so much damage. The other gods reluctantly agreed, there had been other incidents where a god had figured out their powers and had almost destroyed the earth. The gods looked down from the hill at the flooded earth. One god raised the lands again, but left the large bodies of water. Voda became the goddess of water, providing life and occasionally taking it. Lume became the goddess of fire, lighting the darkness and razing the land when not careful. The two sisters kept each other in check, when Lume was careless and began to scorch the earth, Voda would put the fires out before the other gods found out. From then on, the other gods never confused the sisters. For once they obtained their powers not only did they look different, but their powers highlighted their personalities. Lume with the short temper, and Voda the calm one.
