Brianna’s POV:

“Bri!  Bri! Wake up! Or else you’re gonna be late for your audition!” Rebecca said. I didn’t know what was going on but I rolled over to look at my clock to see that it said 10:45. “Shit!” I then started to panic realizing that I only had fifteen minutes until my dance audition. Honestly, I didn’t know what I was auditioning for but my dance professor, Mrs. Knight, told me that it would be a great opportunity and with my level of skill, I would be a perfect candidate for the job. While rushing to get ready, I just left my hair out, put on sweatpants, a blue “keep calm and live life” tank, and my blue converse. I then grabbed my bag and shoved my phone, wallet, and house keys in it and ran out the door to my car.

Driving psychotically, I got there with five minutes to spare but I then ran into someone on my way into the building. “Oh! Sorry I wasn’t paying attention and I’m late and I’m so sorry.” I frantically said while picking up my things. “Oh it’s ok, it’s actually my fault, I was too busy texting.” I didn’t have enough time to stop and chat, so I continued running, but from what I saw he was a cute guy with a thick British accent. As I ran to the stairs, I felt as though somebody was watching me and to my surprise, the guy I ran into was just standing there smiling.

As I drifted out of his view, I got the feeling that there was something different about him. I was hoping that I would see him again, but with the luck I had, it probably wouldn’t happen. As I arrived at the audition, my mind wouldn’t stop thinking about that guy I just ran into, but I needed to focus if I wanted this job. “Brianna Williams!” the lady at the table called. I got up and walked into the studio to find two people sitting at the table and one of them being my dance professor. Even though my dance professor was one of the people deciding whether or not I got the job, I knew that she wouldn’t give me the job if I really didn’t work for it.

The other person I didn’t recognize but they must have been pretty high up with the stars to know my dance professor. “So…Ms. Williams, what songs will you be dancing to?” The other lady, who I found out to be Jayne Collins, asked. “We Run the Night by Havana Brown will be my upbeat song and Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran will be my slow song.” “Ok, let’s begin.” And with that, my music started and my body began to move as though the lyrics were moving my muscles.

Once I was done my audition, I opened my eyes to see that Mrs. Knight and Jayne were righting things down on their papers. I wasn’t sure whether or not they liked it because their faces were unreadable. There was an awkward silence until Mrs. Knight said, “Thank you Ms. Williams” and with that, I grabbed my things and left. As I was walking to the elevator, I wondered if I had completely lost this job, but I was then broken from my thoughts when a girl yelled, “Hold the door!” I quickly reached for the door and when she finally arrived at the door, I realized that I had seen this girl earlier. She was the girl who auditioned before me and when she came out, she looked confident in what she just did. Plus, she was gorgeous and with her blonde hair and hazel eyes, she was guaranteed to get the job.

Since we were on the twelfth floor, it was going to be a long ride downstairs but somebody finally broke the silence, and it wasn’t me. “So…I’m Jill. And you are?” “Oh, I’m Brianna but my friends call me Bri.” We then shook hands and then started talking as though the audition didn’t happen but sooner or later, it got brought up. “How do you think you did?” Jill asked. “I don’t really know, because when I finished they were writing things down and I couldn’t read their faces. What about you?” “Oh,” she said, “I think I got the job because they were smiling after I was done. Not to sound cocky, but I know I’m a great dancer because I’ve been dancing since I was four.” And with that statement, we came to the first floor. Thank God. But as I was leaving, she stopped in front of me and asked for my number, which caught me off guard because I barely knew her, so that we could keep in contact during the waiting period. Once I gave her my number, she hugged me and left the building. I honestly didn’t know what just happened but I think I just made a friend.
