When Melody signed up for Glee club auditions earlier that day, she didn't realise they would be taking place later that same day. Luckily though, she wouldn't have to sit through most of Finn's football practice...

She stood behind the stage, patiently (and very anxiously) waiting for her name to be called. Her slightly pudgy arms were crossed tightly over her chest as she wrapped herself in her sweater a little. Babies and young children had safety blankets...Melody had a large black wool sweater covered in white stars that reached down to her knees.

"So..." One girl whispered to Melody. "What song are you auditioning with?"

"I'm sorry what?" Melody says, looking up at her. There was an anxious look in her light brown eyes, they were the same shade as her brother's.

The girl was taller than her. Which wasn't saying much...Almost everyone was taller than Melody. Her hair was long, brown, and straight. But was pulled out of her face by a headband. Melody recognized her immediately: It was Rachel Berry.

"I asked what song you were auditioning with." Rachel asks again. She didn't make the question like small talk or a nice conversion, the tone of voice made her sound intense...Like she was seeking out the competition. Good thing I'm not good competition...Melody thought to herself. Rachel seems a little intense...

"Oh um..." She says quietly, rubbing the back of neck in a nervous manner. "I'm singing 'Michael In The Bathroom'..." Her voice was quiet and shy, with a hint of embarrassment. Melody's pale face turned a light red.

Rachel nodded little with a smirk. "Well I wish you luck...You're Finn Hudson's sister right?"

Melody looked down a little. "Y-Yeah..."

Rachel crossed her arms and nodded, smiling to herself. Melody knew that look all to well, it was the look girls got when they were falling for Fin...

"Well...Tell him I said hello-" Rachel says with a slight hint of excitement in her voice.

"Melody R. H?" A voice said over the speakers on the stage. Melody's face went a deep red as her heart began to race.

With shaky hands and knees she walked out from behind the curtain and to the center of the stage. The brightness of the stage lights on her face made Melody sweat slightly. Well, more than she already was.

The teacher who was in charge of these audition sat at a table towards the middle of the theater. He smiled sweetly at the anxious looking teenage girl. "Hey Melody-"

"H-Hi Mr.Shcue..." She says, trying to get her voice to where he could hear it. She felt like sobbing...Why in the world did she agree to this? This wasn't worth the anxiety building in her chest...The dread that she would do horribly and everyone would remember-

Thankfully, the smiling Spanish teacher cut off her train of thought. "Alright...No need to feel nervous, just start when you're ready..."

Melody nods a little as she takes a shaky breath. Soon, she finally began her audition-

As soon as her audition was over, Melody left the stage as quickly as possible. She was hoping that Finn hadn't ditched her (like he had before, but that's a story for another day-) so that Melody could still get a ride with him. She still preferred a ride with Finn and his obnoxious friends than walking all the way home...Or even worse, the bus!

She made it out to the football field, to see that it was cleared out. It looked like she was walking home today.

Melody still had about thirty minutes until she made it home. Her black headphones were placed snugly over her ears she looked down at her shoes and the sidewalk with each step she took. Unintentionally, she found herself walking to the beat of the music.

Suddenly, Melody felt something small and plastic bounce off the side of her head. She flinches, stopping in her tracks. After a moment, she looked up to see a car pulled up by the sidewalk. The familiar faces in the car made Melody's face turn a deep red as she put her headphones around her neck.

"Come on, get in-" Finn says, leaning out the passenger side window. It looked like one of Melody's least favourite people was in the drivers seat: Noah Puckerman. The back seat looked to have Finn's girlfriend as well, Quinn Fabray.

The moment Melody saw the three she had already made her decision:

"Nah, I'm good..." She smiles weakly as she looks at her brother, readjusting the straps of her bagpack slightly.

"Oh come on..." Finn pouts. "Please?"

"Come on Fun-Size...We don't bite-" Puckerman smirks, only to be cut off by Finn. The brother sat back down in his seat, hitting his friends arm to make him quiet.

"Let's just leave her..." Quinn says in the backseat, making sure it was loud enough for Melody to hear.

Melody glared slightly at the back seat, then smiled at her brother. "Why thank you dear brother for stopping..."

This was a perfect opportunity for getting on Quinn's nerves...Even if it meant being stuck in a car with her. Melody bent down and picked up the pencil that they had thrown to get her attention, and puts it into the pocket of her sweater.

She continued to smile sweetly as she climbed into the back seat, sitting right beside Quinn. Melody sat her bag on the floorboard between her feet. Once the door was closed, Puck began to drive again.

"Did you really have to throw a pencil to get my attention though?" Melody says, pulling her phone out of her pocket and scrolling through it as she spoke.

Finn looks back at her. "You couldn't hear me through your headphones...So I improvised" He shrugs innocently.

Melody laughed a little as she looked back out the window.

"Which is exactly why we should have kept driving..." Quinn mutters angrily as she crosses her arms and looks out her window as well.

Melody's face turned a deep red as she stayed silent, sinking into her seat slightly. She got into the car to annoy Quin..But backed down immediately when threatened. Maybe Kurt was right, she needed to put herself out more.

Author's Note:

Alright...So Finding Melody is officially back! To be able to update more, some of these chapters may be shorter than others, and some may be longer. Now I understand that certain Musical's that I make reference too may (and probably) weren't around during the time Glee was out....But I want to make reference to them anyway...Hope you enjoy!
