Y/N POV:

My name is Y/N BELLADONNA. I'm 12 years old. My sister is Blake Belladonna and my parents name are ghira and Kali. Despite us all being Faunus, I'm different from my family and the rest of people in Menagerie. There was an accident when I was born and I didn't have any Faunus ears or tails, but I still have the other traits of a Faunus. Because of this, my family and everyone else treat me horribly. Whenever I go somewhere on the island, they treated me like I was nothing. They say things like:

Faunus 1: Isn't that the freak Faunus that ears and tail didn't come out?

Faunus 2: Yeah, why is he even here? He should be anywhere but here.

Faunus 3: Why does he even bother trying to blend in with us.

Those comments are the kinds of things I dealt with every day. My parents ignored me. They barely fed me and they never trained me. Everything I would get is always given to Blake. Whenever I wanted to play or train, Ghira would say: Blake needs us more, maybe another time, or even why do you even bother? Kali would hardly feed me anything and only fed me leftovers and I would have to sleep on the floor every night. I hated my life and I wished I could go away and have a new family, and one night my wished was granted. I snuck out and just wanted to walk around since I don't get to go out often.

Y/n: Why? Why do they treat me like this? I just want to be loved, but they treat like dirt. *Sobs* *sobs* I just wish someone would take me away from this place!

?... I think I can help with that?

That is when I looked and saw a woman that I could remember from one of the books that my mom had, but I didn't know her name.

Y/n: I remember you from one of the books I read, but who are you?

?... I'm here to take you with me?

Y/n: Why? Why would you do that?

?...: Because I see a boy that has been treated horribly his whole life and needs a mother to care for him.

Y/n: Really! Could...uh, could you be my mother?

?...: Sure. Go grab your stuff and we can leave.

I get all gleefully and head back inside my house to grab all my stuff from my room. Which is in the Attic because my family says that is where I belong, I'm about to sneak back out when Blake spots me.

Blake: Dad told you not to go out at night. I'm gonna tell him and you are gonna get in a lot of trouble and they will pay even more attention to me and not a weakling like you.

I didn't even respond to her because I wouldn't have to deal with her soon.

I went up to my room and got some clothes and wrote a note saying our they wouldn't have to put up with me anymore because I was running away. I then headed down and was about to go out the door, but I started to regret doing this because maybe they still loved me, but that is when I overheard my family talking.

Blake: So, is y/n gonna get in trouble?

Ghira: Of course, he breaks my rules after I still let him live here, after tonight, he will be sleeping outside, not that we even wanted him here anyway.

Kali: I don't even know why we even feed him at all.

Blake: He's getting what he deserves.

I could feel tears rolling down my cheek as I could hear my family's harsh words. That was when I decided that I was making the right choice. I retreated back to my room in the attic and jumped out my window and headed back to the mysterious woman.

?...: Hey, you're back. Are you crying?

Y/n; Are you gonna hit me for that?

?...: What? Why would I do that?

Y/n: Cause *sobs* That's what Dad did.

?...: Well, I promise that I will treat you like you were my own. So, let's get going, my son.

Y/n: Okay, mom.

We then get on my mom's ship and leave.

Y/n: Hey mom

?...: Yeah?

Y/n: Where we going? And you never told me your name.

?...: Where we're going is a secret.

Y/n: Well what should I call you besides mom?

?...: Well you can call me what the others used to call him.

Y/n: And what was that?

?...: Summer Rose.
