It was a dark night outside, at the time of 9:00 PM, Chris was roaming around thinking of what he'd do when he got home from a long day at work, he walked over to a man, ready to take his order.
"Hello sir, what would you like to order?" He said with a welcoming smile as the man looked up to him.
"I'd like a cappuccino, please and thank you." He said, turning back to his book, Chris nodded and walked back to his area to get the order, the man silently watching his every move as if he was intrigued by Chris
"Here's your drink, sir." He smiled as he handed the drink to the man, and then receiving his payment, he watched him leave and the smile faded, he let out a sigh of relief. The man really did seem suspicious. An hour or two passed and Chris began to close up shops when he found a note in the rolled up dollar, it said "I observed you while you worked, and your smile is lovely. So was the cappuccino, I'll be returning tomorrow at the same time, until then, goodbye." The letter was flattering, yet creepy. He got chills from the way "observed" was written. He quickly closed turned off the lights and switched the sign to closed, walking out the door and then closing and locking it. Tonight he was keeping his eyes peeling and his hearing sharp. He walked cautiously to his car and got in, proceeding to drive home, aware of everything in his area. When he got home he bolted inside and locked his doors and windows, he closed the blinds and blocked the doors with things, the letter kept him awake until 4:00 AM, when he was finally able to sleep. The next day he came into work yawning and tired, spacing out every now and then. He snapped into reality when he saw the man again, sitting in the exact same spot with the exact same book. He approached him with a weak smile due to lack of sleep.
"Hello again, you seem tired, did something bother you last night?" The man asked with concern, it was hard to tell if it was real or not. Maybe Chris was overreacting and he was really a nice guy looking for a friend. "Y-yeah... I'll be honest with you, I was a little paranoid last night." His eyes widened as he realized the man might ask what he was paranoid about, he'd have to tell the truth, and he didn't want to offend him, so he quickly changed the subject before he could ask
"I don't believe I introduced myself, I'm Chris, Chris Hill. He said with a grin that gave off a positive vibe.
" Nice to meet you, Chris, I'm Jake, Jake Jones." He said, he sounded like a good person, but something about him was still flashing warning signs at him. Jake was a a little too kind for Chris's likings
