The first week of work dragged on, Lillian didn't quite care for her new job. All she does all day is go through countless records for just a mere twenty cents an hour. She received her paycheck of just eight dollars from the pay roll.

Just as she stepped out of the elevator and into the lobby a familiar hand grabs her arm.

"Hiya girlie!" Dory says crossing their arms together.

"Hi Dory." she replies as they both walk out of the building. It was six in the evening, on a Friday night. The same Friday night Dory said she was going to show her a good time.

All week long Lillian tried getting more information on what was in store for her. However, Dory wanting to keep the evenings events a surprise, she held her ground and didn't budge.

"I hope you are ready for the best night of your life!" Dory says as they get to the end of the sidewalk.

Dory puts two fingers into her mouth and whistles loudly. She puts her arm up into the air and a second later a taxi pulls up in front of them.

She smiles at her work and opens the door for the both of them. They climb into the cart and the gentlemen in the front seat begins to speak.

"Where to ladies?"

"Eighty fifth street please kind sir." Dory says and the man nods his head.

"We're going to my place first, to get ready." Dory says whispering into Lillian's ear.

"Oh I do not have anything to change into." Lillian says looking down at her outfit.

"Do not worry, I have got you covered girlie." Dory says shooting Lillian her signature wink.

The traffic this time a day is worse than the mornings. Lillian hasn't gotten use to the hustle and bustle of the city yet. She only came into the city on occasion with her family. They lived in up state New York all her life.

After about a ten minute car ride, they arrived at Dory's apartment building.

"That will be three cents dear." The taxi driver says as Dory pulls out her coin purse and hands the gentleman the change.

"Thank you kind sir." Dory says as we scooted out of the taxi. The taxi pulls away as Dory led the way up the steps of her building. The door opened with a creek, and after four flights of stairs they finally arrived at her apartment.

Dory's place was a petite yet comfortable apartment. When you walked in, you were immediately met with a couch with a love seat beside it and a coffee table in front of it. The kitchen was on the far left wall, with a curtain separating the living space from the bedroom area. While the washroom was put at the back of the right. It was one of the best studios you could get in the city with their type of salary.

"Well do not just stand there collecting dust! Come in! Make yourself at home!" Dory says gesturing Lillian into the apartment.

Lillian steps in and quickly shuts the door. Dory goes to open a window to let the summer breeze into the apartment since it's a bit stuffy.

"First things first, we need to wash the work day off of us. You go ahead and take a nice soak, I am going to whip us up something to eat." She says leading me to the washroom.
