The Girl & Her Red Scarf

"When I die, I want to be the moon." Whispered young Suzy.
"Why?" Young Saturn whispered back.
"So that I can watch over you!" Answered little Suzy. "When we leave, I'll come back here and look for you."
"Promise?"
"Promise."

Once, there was a six year-old girl who promised a boy. But she couldn't keep that promise. So, she broke it.

Once, there was an eight year-old boy who believed in promises. Until a girl, broke her promise. He never believed again.

That girl, is Suzy.
That boy, is Saturn.

And the longer she lives. The quicker he (Saturn) dies.

But Suzy doesn't know that quite yet. The moon is cruel, isn't she?

Suzy is a time thief, she steals other people's time to live a little bit longer. For she died a long time ago, failing to fulfill a promise she made to a boy. And until she fulfills that promise, her heart won't be freed, from guilt.

She trades her soul, her memory and someone else's life (which she doesn't know who, and probably doesn't care because she's selfish like that) at the moon, in replace of her, living longer (ten more years), so she can find the boy whom she made a promise with and fulfill it.

Suzy asked, "how am I supposed to find him?

"You'll know." The moon replied.

"What happens when I fail to find him within the given time?"

"The skies will cry and the stars will be shipwrecked in between the spaces of black holes as the sky turn into deep ruby red. And along with the stars, your soul too, will be shipwrecked. Your time will stop and it ends there."
"About the one who'll die,"
"Unless you don't want that person to die or to suffer, give him your necklace. Then the consequence will be the same."
"How am I supposed to know who that is?"
"You'll know," whispered the moon, "you'll know."

There are 1073 days on Suzy's necklace pendant, meaning Suzy has 1073 more days to live, and someone else has 1073 days left to live.

It was past eleven at night when Suzy and Saturn first met at the rooftop of an abandoned school. Making Saturn, a rebel.

Saturn, peeking at the abandoned astro-physics 130mm aperture doublet apochromatic refractor telescope, noticed the girl, Suzy, wearing a plain white-laced dress that's two inches above the knee, standing five feet behind him.

Suzy's hair was as dark as the night, and her eyes shine like the stars. Her face, upwards, burying herself in the scent of the abandoned place, her eyes, swallowing the dark skies. She wears a long flowy silk-made red scarf that compliments her fair skin tone, and her plain white-laced dress.

It was a Sunday night when they first met, and Saturn still has an exam tomorrow morning at Trigonometry, a subject which he hates, apparently. And he shouldn't be lusting at the things he can't touch.

Saturn looked at Suzy and Suzy looked back. They didn't need introductions. Suzy walked until she was beside Saturn, and again, face upwards, looking at the empty skies, the moon, hiding from all of the chaos of the stars. Saturn did the same.
