Lainey Rhoades.
9:29 a.m.
July 2000Lainey sweated like crazy and it surely showed. Her very soon to be sister in-law could see the beads on her forehead racing down her forehead.
"Lainey, how does you, a petite woman sweat so much?" Vanessa Ballard furrowed her eyebrows together before dabbing her constant sweating with a napkin. Lainey whimpered before confessing to her.
"Vanessa, I've only sweated like this when I told Marcus I was pregnant with Keiko."
"Well this time he can't leave, y'all 3 kids deep."
Vanessa was a lot taller than Lainey and way more curvier than her. What they lacked to relate body-wise, they both were strong, blunt women who weren't intimidated by anyone. It's was funny to Vanessa that a white, blonde woman like Lainey: short, skinny as hell, and innocent looking would turn out to be a badass.
Lainey rolled her eyes at the baby momma joke Vanessa is known to tell her. Vanessa noticed the eye-rolling and added, "And he's completely in love with you." Lainey smiled at Vanessa before giving her a long hug. When they parted, a faint knock alerted the girls.
"PASSWORD?" Vanessa yelled.
"TWINKIES!" Vanessa opened the door and in came Pattie Mallete, Lainey's maid of honor. Lainey grinned before rushing over to the door with her long white dress. Pattie walked over to the mirror, checking her outfit and makeup before she told the girls that the wedding was about to start. "I was waiting a long ass time for y'all to get married," Pattie chuckled. Lainey laughed and prepared herself for marrying her soulmate."Marcus, will you have this woman to be your lawful wedded wife, to live together after God's ordinance in the Holy Estate of Matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others keep you only unto her as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." His husky deep voice was now soft, echoing through the enormous room. His posture was still, but his facial expressions were overjoyed.
"And Lainey, will you have this man to your lawful wedded husband, to live together after God's ordinance in the Holy Estate of Matrimony? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others keep you only unto him as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Her rosy cheeks were tear-stained, and her smile shouted, 'bliss'.
"Do you have your vows present?" The pastor glanced at the couple. Both nodded their heads in agreement and Lainey insisted Marcus to go first. He looked over his shoulder to his best man, who quickly search for the folded up paper. The best man smiled as soon as he found it inside his tuxedo. Marcus cleared his throat, his hands steady.
"Lainey Maria, for a long time, there has not been anything in this world that I wanted more than to be with you and to be the reason you smile. Words aren't enough to begin how much I love you or how much I care, because nothing comes close to perfect when compared to you and the girls.
"Not a single day goes by that I don't think myself lucky that I met you. I always knew one day an angel would come and steal my heart and here you are, I couldn't imagine anyone else in the world that I want to spend forever with. There is no I will love as much as I love you, except for our three beautiful babies right there,"
His eyes made its way to the 3 little girls he adored so much. Keiko, the oldest, was leaning on her best friend's shoulder, with serenity and amazement plastered on her face. On her left was Khloe, kicking her feet back and forth, blushing at her daddy's admiration while holding the newborn baby, Kleo. Kleo was the precious thing that Khloe was overly obsessed with. Kleo slept peacefully in Khloe's arms.
"I will stand by you no matter no what, I will be there to hold your hand, and hold you when you cry through everything I will be there with you, you won't have to go it alone"
"Before I met you I never thought I could be as happy as you make me, I believed that nice guys finished last, but now, I am a example of a nice guy finishing first for once in my life, you make me smile no matter what mood I am in, you brighten my darkest day and always make any pain I am in goes away, before today meeting you and falling in love with you was the best thing that I have ever done, but now I can say I have done better. I can say the best thing I ever did was marry the girl of my dreams, I will love you forever and always."
Marcus shed a tear that was immediately wiped by his finger. He smiled down at the woman who couldn't contain her happiness and held his hand, rubbing the back of his hand with her thumb. Lainey was his high-school sweetheart that supported him when his mother had cancer and seeing him at his worst. He knew she was the one when he went rock-bottom. He's completely in love with the girl of his dreams.
Lainey mouthed, 'I love you' before their oldest, Keiko, ran to the steps of the alter and handed her mother her the piece of paper Lainey wrote her vows on. Keiko made sure to keep the paper the way it was when she gave it to her. Keiko giggled before sitting back down between Justin-Pattie's son and Khloe.
"Marcus Jaiquan, you mean so much to me. Not one word or feeling can describe the love I have for you. I never would have thought that two completely imperfect people could come together so perfectly and be happy. I love you Marcus. You're my best friend, my soul mate, my everything."
Lainey's soothing voice that everyone adored started to crack, with tears running down her face.
"With that said, I vow to honor, cherish, love, and protect you with everything I am and will be. I vow that everyday I'll wake up and be so thankful that we're together and that I'll always be by your side. And I vow that this love will be as great as the best fairy tale and a dream come true. I love you Marcus. Forever and Always."
"You may now kiss the bride," The pastor announced. But, Lainey and Marcus kissed with passion before the pastor finished his sentence. Everyone cheered on the very happy couple and their children were joyous. Khloe snuggled with her baby sister while Kieko and Justin were jumping up and down for joy.
"Mommy and Daddy are married!" Kieko mentioned to the giggly baby Kleo. Kieko turned around to Justin and hugged her best buddy.
