Soulmate?
Isn't that when people believe their unending love pulls one person closer to the other? When no problems are possible? And you're always happy? Because as long as you're together nothing can stop you. Is that what people really believe? I may have not had a lot of work around romantic kind of love but I do know a lot about another kind of love.
First, love is a strong word that carries a lot of weight. Not just because love can mean unending but because it holds so many different meanings. It can be a fatherly love, a brotherly love, a friendly love, and a romantic love. The word love is just an open ended word until you explain yourself. And since love means so many things, I am able to understand is better. I am able to see love in a new light when I think of it.
I know that I haven't had very many romantic experiences in the short life I've lived but I do know people who love me. I have a family that I am very close to and friends that I'm just as close to. I know they love me, and I love them but that doesn't make everything perfect. I think all love is similar in the sense that it's never perfect. You can have a fight and yell and be angry, but love is that part that make you apologise and forgive.

A soulmate would be a person you love romantically. A love that lasts through thick and thin. And in that love you may believe it is over but it continues to come back. Through fights, and changes, and anger, and sadness, you know that you still love them. You know that you will always love them. And when life isn't perfect you will care for a bit, but then you'll be thankful that there is someone by your side forever.
That is what I believe a soulmate is.
