Just like we had planed Luke and I met up at the park. I had to sneak out of my house pretty much, so my mom wouldn't ask a ton of questions. I was so not wanting to tell her. I was in fourth grade, she thought, I thought boys were still yucky.

I walked into the the park gates. Luke was sitting on one of the swings. He was looking down and drawing in the sand with his shoes. I walked, no I ran over and got onto the swing next to him. He looked up and over at me.

"Hey Annebeth."

"Hey Luke, what are you drawing?"

He looked down and hurried up and smoothed it out so I couldn't see. I still wonder what he was drawing.

"Oh um... It's nothing." I looked at him with curious eyes.

"I swear Annabeth it's nothing."

"OK, so how are you doing?"

"Fine I guess. How about you?"

"Good. Guess what." I got up and moved closer to him.

"What?"

"Tag you're it." I tapped him and then started to run.

We had played tag forever. Playing tag with only two people isn't that much fun. But we kept changing things and adding new rules, anything to much it fun. One time he tackled me when I went to duck as he came up to tag me.

"Hey Annabeth can I ask you a question?"

"Sure, what's up."

"I'm not going to tell to you. Come closer."

"No you'll tag me. I'm not stupid."

"No I won't I promise."

I walked over to him. Was this what I had been waiting for? After all this time was Luke going to ask me, to be his girlfriend? Had all my hard work finally paid off? I had all this and more running through my mind.

"Ok Luke, I'[m here what is it?"

"Annabeth. Uh how can I word this?"

"Luke stop playing with me and just ask me, what you wanted to ask." I hit him on the shoulder playfully. He just smiled his beautiful smile me.

"Annabeth, do you wanna be my girlfriend?"

Trying to answer him, but not making it show how happy I was. Or how long I had waited. I simply replied, "Yea sure why not."

"Seriously?"

"Yea, Luke. I'll be your girlfriend."

"I have to tell you something else, Annabeth."

"What is it Luke?"

"Tag you're it."

He ran from me and I chased him. I knew I was faster than him, and could easily tagged him, but I just went slowly. It was funny him teasing me for being so slow, and than me just catching up with him within a minute.

My phone went off. I stopped to answer it.

*Hello.......

What Mom?........

I told you I was going to the park........

Okay I'm coming..........

Bye.*

Looking for Luke I felt a hand land on my shoulder, making me jump. I turned around as fast as I could, to see Luke behind me. He was Laughing so hard.

"Hey that wasn't funny."

"You're right, I'm just laughing for no reason."

"Luke."

"Annabeth."

Shaking me head at him. "My mom just called. I have to go home."

"Okay, I better get going to."

"Okay text me later OK."

"Okay."

I started to turn around and walk home.

"Annabeth, wait."

I Looked at Luke. "What?"

"Don't I get a hug?" He run right up to me and gave me a hug. My heart was betting so hard.

That was the day all my hard work played off. It made me so happy. I was finally dating Luke. I had my first real boyfriend in Fourth grade. I finally had that one boy, that I would care about for a while. Finally.
